Cincinnati travel guide and discussion

Exploring Cincinnati with a mix of modern vibes and cozy city charm! 🏙️🌨️ Even during cloudy, snowy weather, there’s so much character—especially around Fountain Square. If you’re planning a downtown stay, Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown Hotel (36 E 4th St) should be your go-to. Spacious rooms, prime location, and luxe amenities make it a standout basecamp for exploring. Must-See: Fountain Square is right around the corner (416 Vine St). Snap a shot near the fountain or check out events—even on drizzly or snowy days, the view against the city’s modern architecture is worth it. I loved seeing potted plants dusted with snow at the building entrances—perfect for those city winter aesthetics! Getting Around: Everything in downtown Cincinnati is walkable, especially if you’re staying at Renaissance. Fountain Square is just a 2-min stroll; just pack an umbrella or warm coat if you visit during rainy or snowy months. Where to Eat: The nearby area is loaded with local bites—pop into Maplewood for brunch or try Sotto for Italian (both walkable from the hotel). After, grab coffee at Kitty’s around the corner. Local Tip: Garage parking is easy! Use Fountain Square South Garage for stress-free access if you’re driving. Don’t forget to soak in Cincinnati’s urban charm, even in snowy weather—the cloudy cityscape is a whole vibe. #CincinnatiTravel #UrbanGetaway #ModernMidwest #WinterWalks

I stayed in Columbus, the capital of Ohio, USA, for a week! It doesn't feel like a tourist destination, but that's what makes it great✨ Even though it has an old townscape, it's somehow stylish and clean, and there are even glimpses of modernity here and there. It feels like a city that only those in the know know about, in a good way. Prices are relatively low, and it was a very comfortable city to live in! The Segway tour is the best! If you're going sightseeing, I highly recommend the Segway tour from Centerville in the center of downtown! While looking at the historic buildings, the guide told me a lot of jokes in English, and I was laughing the whole time😂 If you're not good at English, it might be fun to rent an electric kickboard in the city and go around by yourself. It's fun to go around cafes in the morning☕ Every cafe I went to every morning was a hit! Good taste, good appearance, good atmosphere. It's perfect for Instagram 📸 Shopping in the suburbs is also a must 🛍 If you have a rental car, you should definitely go to "Easton Mall" in the suburbs! Women can probably window shop forever...lol Also, Columbus is the city where the Honda factory is located, so I didn't feel any prejudice against Asians at all 😊 It's a really nice city, I definitely want to go again! ⸻ On the fourth day, we went to Cincinnati! ⚾️ We rented a car and took a day trip to "Cincinnati" in the same state of Ohio! The purpose, of course... **Watching a Major League Baseball game! **A Reds game! ...But our goal was the opposing team, the Cubs 🤣 Enjoy the play of Seiya Suzuki and Shota Imanaga from the god seats right above the infield bench (for only $50!)! This price would be impossible in Japanese professional baseball. For a Dodgers game, you'd be prepared to pay 50,000 yen 💸 Also, the singing of the American national anthem before the game gave me goosebumps. I was really moved! ※Tickets are for smartphones only. Bags are not allowed, so all you need is a wallet and a smartphone. Official resale tickets are surprisingly cheap, so check them out! ⸻ A trip to Ohio filled with local charm and American fun. It's not flashy, but it's a place that you'll fall in love with 🇺🇸💕 #Ohio #USAtrip #Columbus #Cincinnati #mlb

📍Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati MLB National League⚾️ Cincinnati Reds vs Milwaukee Brewers ✔️This was my second time watching a Major League Baseball game in Cincinnati. I watched a game between the Cincinnati Reds, the first professional baseball team in the United States and the team Choo Shin-soo played for, and the Milwaukee Brewers, who are doing the best this season. While Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, has a cozy atmosphere in the city, the Great American Ball Park of the Cincinnati Reds is beautifully located next to the Ohio River...✨ It was amazing to see the fastest player in the Major League, De La Cruz, up close, and I was thrilled to witness a walk-off game in extra innings while watching a Major League game😳

Cincinnati is often a city that's overlooked for its bigger neighbors in the region. However it's still a great city to explore and discover. Being in the middle of the US it can also be considered a sort of divide between the North and South. The city boasts a nice and orderly food market where you can get some fresh produce as well as other eats. Make sure to try out the breakfast in the nearby area. Also make sure to try the chilli hotdogs which are also very good. The downtown area is small and easily walkable. You can also make a stop at the former train station for a nice art déco architectural gem. Head across the river to Kentucky to really get a scenic and panoramic view of the skyline. It's also a super chill place to relax. Finally, remember to get some bbq before leaving as some hole in the walls are definitely tasty. #explore #travel #city #cincinnati #usa

#tripaway A great place to see a game! When in Cincinnati, I went to see a game. The park was nice and in downtown Cincinnati. Food here is good, and there is some restaurants around it. There is also some hotels near by. Come to Cincinnati for a good time and a good ball game! #tripaway

#tripaway Cincinnati is such a pleasant city. I went to a baseball game, and got some Cincinnati chill. It was pretty good! I was always grossed out by that, but it is not that bad. I prefer to stay in Marriotts, but this time I stayed in an Embassy Suites. The first picture is from my window. Great view! Come see this great city for your self #tripaway

A great Northern place to go on vacations his #happynewyear Come see this great city for your own eyes! My wife and I had an incredible stay at Secrets Maroma—perfect for celebrating my 40th birthday. The standout highlight was Uriel from the entertainment team. We had deep conversations throughout the week, and he surprised us with a private painting session, knowing my love for the Cincinnati Bengals. Painting a Bengals-themed piece to bring home was such a thoughtful, memorable gesture. Uriel truly made a lasting impression! Our concierge, Marco, deserves special mention as well. He was always attentive and ensured our stay was smooth and enjoyable, delivering impeccable service. The beach massage was sublime, and renting a Bali bed proved to be worth every penny. The pools were stunning, with hardworking poolside staff providing excellent service daily. We also thoroughly enjoyed the food; every restaurant offered delicious meals, and we had a wonderful dining experience throughout our stay. Secrets Maroma provided the perfect backdrop for celebrating 40. From the gorgeous resort and delectable food to the pools, beach, and outstanding service—especially thanks to people like Uriel and Marco—it’s a birthday trip we’ll cherish forever. Thank you for making my milestone one to remember!

Landed at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Union Terminal is a must-see! It’s way bigger than I expected, and the museum inside is great. I also recommend walking across the Roebling Bridge to catch a view of Cincinnati from the Kentucky side! ♪ Check out the massive Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum in Hamilton on a sunny day! Took a campus tour of the University of Cincinnati—apparently, it’s ranked No. 4 in the country. American campuses are just huge! I felt like I’d get lost before getting the hang of it. The weather was perfect, and the view from Eden Park was stunning. It gets super crowded on weekends with people grilling, so parking is a nightmare—I wouldn't recommend visiting then. Since this was just a personal trip, it might not be the most professional guide, but: If you love chicken wings, hit up Roosters. If you've got a strong stomach and want a heavy, classic American meal, try Skyline Chili. Also, don't miss Grippo’s BAR-B-Q chips—they’re a local favorite that's sweet and spicy (fair warning: your tongue might start tingling if you eat too many!) ^_^

Ohio match

Each year in September, Cincinnati, Ohio, the United States has a beer festival called October fest. Some people also call it Zinzinnati October Fest. This is the largest October fest outside Germany I heard. Don’t ask me why it’s in September. People wear traditional German clothing, Dirndl. If you like beer, I definitely recommend. Make sure you buy pins first because they got sold out quickly.

Ohio River Dinner Cruise, USA 🚢 The BB Riverboat Dinner Cruise, which I had only ever seen from afar whenever I visited Cincinnati. It departed at 6:30 PM, and perhaps because it was summer, it was still bright outside, making it perfect for viewing the scenery right from the moment we set off. I didn't sign up for dinner, but watching what others were eating, the menu looked quite good and the plating wasn't bad either. It made me think that I should try taking the cruise with dinner included next time. The boat ride was longer than I expected, so instead of feeling like I was rushing through the sights, the best part was being able to sit leisurely on the deck, feel the river breeze, and enjoy the scenery. It was a unique pleasure to see the Cincinnati skyline from a different angle as we slowly moved along the Ohio River. Above all, the view of Cincinnati from the Ohio River was so beautiful... Just sitting there blankly, watching the buildings and bridges reflected in the water, was a truly healing experience 🥹 If you are planning a trip to Cincinnati, I highly recommend including a cruise tour in your itinerary! #Cincinnati #OhioTravel #DinnerCruise

I have a 15-year-old daughter and the past couple years we go to Cincinnati to do our school shopping. we take a BFF with us and I surprise them with a hotel room after we're done shopping! Although it was a little later in the evening when we made it to our hotel the girls still had some swim time before it closed at 10 pm. Days Inn Blue Ash had all the amenities required for our trip! 2 queen beds, indoor pool, and breakfast included for the 3 of us! It was clean and the breakfast hit the spot before we hit the road 😍

I caught a performance of the Cincinnati Opera at the iconic Cincinnati Music Hall—and OMG, what an unforgettable night! The hall itself is a total showstopper, with its gorgeous chandeliers sparkling overhead and giving serious royal vibes. It legit felt like I walked into a fairytale! ✨ The opera was "Carmen," and the singers absolutely crushed it, belting out all the classics in flawless French. Don’t stress if your French isn’t on point—there’s a big screen in the hall with English translations, so you can fully vibe with the drama. The whole atmosphere was next-level classy, and the acoustics in the Music Hall? Chef’s kiss. 🥂 I came for the music but stayed in awe of the entire experience. The schedule is precisely arranged according to the operating hours of major venues, placing outdoor spots like the riverfront park in the morning and ensuring smooth visits to major venues before closing. Visiting the Cincinnati Art Museum on Thursday offers extended evening hours for a more relaxed viewing experience. The museum center is less crowded on weekdays, providing a more comfortable visit. About venue reservations: The Cincinnati Art Museum and Contemporary Arts Center offer free admission to permanent exhibitions, but early booking is recommended for special exhibitions. The Cincinnati Museum Center tends to be crowded on weekends, so purchasing electronic tickets online in advance is advised to save waiting time. About transportation: Fountain Square, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the riverfront park in downtown are all within walking distance, making transportation very efficient. Eden Park and the Museum Center are farther out, and the itinerary includes an extra 10–15 minutes buffer for transportation and waiting during long trips. It is recommended to use navigation apps to check real-time city traffic and ride-hailing wait times during your trip. About sun protection and heat relief: Summers here are hot and humid with strong afternoon UV rays. The itinerary schedules outdoor walks and park visits in the cooler morning or evening hours, but high-SPF sunscreen and frequent hydration are still necessary during afternoon outdoor walks to prevent heatstroke and dehydration. Sudden afternoon thunderstorms are common near the river, so carry a portable rain gear in your bag.

My husband and I visited Las Vegas on a Caesar's Junket in April 2026, flying Sun Country Airlines from Cincinnati, Ohio. We stayed at the Horseshoe as part of the package. The flight was punctual and even arrived a bit early, which is typical of Sun Country. We were excited to have seats in Row 8, the closest we've ever been to the front of the plane. The Horseshoe was a pleasant place to stay, centrally located on the Strip. It had clean, quiet rooms with a view of the Sphere and the High Roller. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a glass of champagne, a goody bag including a magnet, keychain, and a snack—a delightful surprise and a very thoughtful touch. It had been three years since our last Vegas trip, and the city was bustling, contrary to what you might hear or read. Some nights, it was even challenging to find an available machine. Dining options were mostly limited to the lower level, and unfortunately, none of them accepted Caesar's rewards points, which was disappointing. On the bright side, you can walk directly to the Paris Casino from inside the Horseshoe, making the location extremely convenient. Time flew by, and although we had no luck at the casinos, the trip was a blast. Considering the price we paid, it was well worth it!

Taking advantage of a trip to Cincinnati for a baseball game, I made a quick stop at the magnificent Cincinnati Union Terminal. In stark contrast to its grandeur, this station was completed in 1933 during the Great Depression. Yet, its design is a stunning example of Art Deco style, which flourished alongside industrialization and urbanization in early 20th-century Europe and America. The station features a massive semi-circular facade, high-contrast colors, striking symmetry, vertical lines, and modern geometric decorations. The murals on the walls vividly depict the industrial and modernization achievements of the era. In its early days, Cincinnati Union Terminal boasted eight island platforms, a product of the golden age of American passenger railroads. However, this prosperity was short-lived. After World War II, the rapid development of highways and aviation led to the decline of passenger railroads, and parts of the station's buildings and platform facilities were later dismantled. Fortunately, the main building was preserved and converted into a museum. Thanks to this transformation, people a century later can still experience the grandeur of America's industrial era and the golden age of passenger railroads through this architectural gem. Interestingly, the station still serves as a stop for trains today. In the quiet hours of early morning, an Amtrak train that runs three times a week between Chicago and the East Coast metropolitan area continues to fulfill its last remaining passenger rail function here.
