🚅 Due to work reasons, we needed to assist with engineering projects in Sri Lanka. We arrived in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.✈️ We were met at the airport by a local colleague. I had also done some research online. A well-known travel magazine named it the world's top travel destination and one of the five most charming travel destinations in the world. It has also been named a "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO. Sri Lanka has abundant tourism resources, from mountain tea gardens to charming beaches, from historical sites to wildlife. Here is a detailed guide I have compiled. If it is helpful to you, remember to like and collect it!

Colombo|The little train from Spirited Away
When traveling to Sri Lanka, you definitely won't want to miss this seaside train that looks just like the one from Spirited Away~ It is said to be the prototype.
We arrived at a very old and shabby station and bought very cheap tickets that cost around three to four yuan (the only thing we could understand was the Arabic numerals 😂).
We waited on the platform for about twenty minutes, and then the train arrived. The carriage was very spacious, with locals sitting in small groups either chatting leisurely or casting friendly glances at us tourists. There was no ticket inspection at the station, the doors were open, and you could get on and off freely.
Although it's called the 'seaside train,' it actually runs along the coast of the Indian Ocean. The train ride doesn't offer a full view of the ocean the entire time, and you shouldn't expect to see scenes like those in the animation. Most of the time, you'll see simple houses built by the residents along the coast... The scenery gets prettier as you approach the final stop, Colombo.
In short, this little train ride is a nice experience, but you should lower your expectations and not compare it to the manga. Just enjoy the local atmosphere 😁.

Location -
Nuga Gama, Cinnamon Grand Hotel
Highlights -
Nuga Gama has secured its place as my top choice for Sri Lankan cuisine in Colombo.
Dining under the grand banyan tree amidst live music creates an unforgettable atmosphere.
The extensive curry selection, ranging from fish to jackfruit, offers a delightful taste of local flavors.
Don't miss the surprisingly delicious jackfruit curry paired with a variety of rice options. And for a unique treat, try the local wood apple fruit, with a taste reminiscent of bubble gum – truly intriguing!
Urban Beach 🏖️
#beachvacation
Although I grew up in a province surrounded by Indian ocean 🌊 on two sides with the second longest shore in the world 🌍, there's always one hesitation in going to the beach 🏖️ which is getting into the beach clothes 😁 As I ain't someone with such nice beach body, going to this urban beach during my Sri Lanka visit was totally worth it. You may still get down to the 🪨 rocky places and have fun there in the water though. Resonating with the common beach ⛱️ scenes in the south east Asia, there are lot of small shops setup in van 🚚 with nice delicacies to enjoy 🍦 I'd also applaud the effort in making this place very neat and decent for families to enjoy!! #tripblazers#urbanexplorer#ukcreator #colombo

Seema Malakaya, Serene Temple on floating platforms
🇱🇰
Originally constructed in the late 19th century on Beira Lake, Seema Malakaya is a part of the historic Gangaramaya Temple which is situated 200 m to its east. In 1976, the temple was redesigned and reconstructed as the original structure started to sink in the lake.
Since then, the temple sits on three floating platforms which are connected to each other and to the mainland by floating bridges. There are numerous seated Buddha statues displaying different mudras (hand gestures) on all three platforms. The central platform houses wooden paneled temple for meditation. The view of the surrounding Colombo skyline from the central platform is beautiful. A small entrance fee to the temple applies to foreigners.

🇱🇰 Kite Flying 🪁 in Galle Face Green, Colombo
Galle Face Green is a 500 m promenade in the heart of Colombo, between Galle Road and the Indian Ocean. It was initially laid out in 1859 by Sir Henry Ward, Governor of British Ceylon. The stretch of land was used for horse racing and golf in the 19th century. Being the largest open space in Colombo, this is a popular destination for locals and tourists to spend their leisure time while enjoying the sea breeze from the Indian Ocean.
We spent a leisure afternoon there after visiting One Galle Face Mall which is just opposite to the park. There were a lot of food vendors selling cooked crabs and prawns along the promenade. Clean public washrooms are available too. The kids had a fun time flying a kite and blowing bubbles. The view of the Sri Lankan flag flying high in the background is spectacular. We also got the opportunity to witness flag lowering ceremony at 6 pm.

Beautiful Panadura Beach- Colombo
My second time visiting Colombo. And everytime when I go there I have to go to this beach few hours before sunset. Having some coconut drinks and sitting there until the sun goes down.
Before sunset going down, local people will come out to the beach and gathering, having small talks to each others, playing football, swimming.
I just seeing

Viharamahadevi Park
Viharamahadevi Park is one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the city of Colombo.
A nice park to stroll around, have a break or chill out with friends. The gardens, grass and trees are well maintained, It is very clean, public toilets are accessible nearby and it has a picturesque lake.
The recommended sightseeing time is between one to two hours.
It is more comfortable to visit this place in the morning or late afternoon as the weather is quite hot.
Boats are available for rent. If you travel with friends or children then a paddle boat could be a great option to keep the kids busy while enjoying the lake.

Colombo, the largest city in the country, has the only international airport in the country and is also the most important commercial center and famous seaside tourist city in China. Colombo's name comes from the Sinhala language Kola-amba-thota, which means "Mango Port". The Portuguese came to Colombo in 1517 and spelled it into Colombo to commemorate Columbus.
Colombo was successively occupied by Portugal, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. By 1948, Sri Lanka became the capital of Sri Lanka, and it was not until 1985 that it moved to Sri Jayawardna Prakot in the southeastern suburb of Colombo. In this coastal city you will find a 100-year-old clock tower, an ancient lighthouse, a national art gallery, a national museum art gallery, a church, a temple, and the Bandaranaike International Convention Center.
Campala Bandaranaike International Conference Building
Bandaranek International Conference Building is one of Colombo's landmark buildings. The magnificent building was donated by the Chinese government for free. The central part of the Independence Square is the Sri Lanka National Memorial Hall, which was built by the Sri Lankan government to commemorate the countrys departure from British colonial rule. The memorial hall reproduces the hall of the royal family who met the pilgrims during the Kandy dynasty, highlighting the flourishing life of the Kandy dynasty. On the beam of the

Miyazaki's prototype of the small train in the "Spirited Away" is definitely a must-have point to Sri Lanka!
In Sri Lanka, along the train line from Galle to Colombo on the Indian Ocean, along with the train lines of the Sri Lankan Alpine Tea Garden, it is called the world's most beautiful train line.
At the Galle Railway Station, I met the train time dial of the manual dial, and met the simple locals with a smile from Sri Lanka. The beautiful little pieces brought together a unique story on the journey.
The train departs from Galle to Colombo, passing through the village and the city. The passing trains are intertwined with the calm and local people, just like the picture of life in Sri Lanka.
When the train is closest to the Indian Ocean, it is only two or three meters away. The blue sky and blue sky, the white waves are tumbling, and the body is out of the window, flying with the sun and the sea breeze!
Romantic, casual, literary, energetic, beautiful, refreshing, what are the unforgettable freezes on your trip to the sea train?

It is a train that many people come to, and is the prototype of a scene in "Spirited Away" by Grandpa Miyazaki. In the past few days, the weather in Sri Lanka began to cloud in the bright afternoon, as if the sky was under pressure, and the waves on the beach were particularly high. I can't squeeze this small train in Sri Lanka, then I can only take a picture. On the speeding train, the Sri Lankan people can still wave with us and don't want to leave the country.

Life is a train station
The Independence Square is located on the eastern side of Colombo University, the iconic Cultural Square, which was the site of the independence ceremony held on February 4, 1948, in Sri Lanka. The Independence Hall in the center of the square was built during the Kangdi Dynasty when the royal family met with the pilgrims. There is a fountain in the middle. The Lankan people like to go for a walk in the evening. The green lawn around the square surrounds the Independence Hall and is decorated by stone lions. The back of the memorial hall is the statue of the founding Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, D.S. Sitting here to see the White House in the distance, the flag flutters on the west side. Many young people come here to spend time reading, and resting here during the sunny days. It is a place to study in a quiet and calm environment.
