If you’re planning a Gold Coast road trip, save Snapper Rocks on your itinerary! 📍🌊 Located at the southern end of the Gold Coast, our drive to Snapper Rocks took around 30 minutes, and even the journey there became part of my travel experience. 🚙 An unexpected surprise along the way, classic cars! During the drive, I kept spotting beautifully maintained classic cars on the road. Some looked like they had driven straight out of an old movie! 😂 I couldn’t resist taking a few photos whenever I had the chance. It made an ordinary drive much more memorable. But the real highlight started when we reached Snapper Rocks. 💙 🌊 Blue ocean, clear sky & incredible coastal views The moment I arrived, I was greeted by a beautiful blue ocean, clear winter sky and a strong, refreshing sea breeze. It was quite windy that day, but I actually loved it — the cool winter air made walking along the coast so comfortable. We were also lucky to arrive during low tide, which allowed me to walk down and explore the exposed rocks. 🪨🌊 Standing there with the waves right beside me and the open ocean in front of me was probably my favourite part of the visit. And with scenery like this… of course there had to be plenty of photos and selfies! 😂📸 ☀️ One lesson I learned: winter doesn’t mean no sunburn! The weather felt cool and comfortable, so I underestimated the Australian sunshine. Right at the edge of the Gold Coast verging on entering NSW, even in the middle of the day on a rainy weekday you'll find line after line of both seasoned surfers and people trying it out for the first time around Snapper Rocks. There are also some nice small beaches on either side, and the lookout just up the hill is worth a quick walk.

I love this place! I visit the Gold Coast regularly and always stay here in Unit 505. It's conveniently located right across the road from the beach with an excellent coffee shop downstairs. After enjoying a swim and surf, you can grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner from around 15 amazing spots in Kirra. If you're up for a walk, it's just 1 km to the Four Pines Brewery in Coolangatta, where you'll find another two dozen fantastic dining options. Whether you're after a quick bite or fine dining, this area has it all.

I arrived in the afternoon and enjoyed the beach before the crowds began to thin out toward evening. A fantastic location right on the Kirra beachfront. The king-size bed was very comfortable, and the apartment had full kitchen facilities and a lovely modern bathroom. The views from our floor were incredible, stretching from the beach to the airport. You could watch whales or planes taking off and landing—it was truly a relaxing experience. With plenty of restaurants downstairs and one of the Gold Coast’s best beaches just across the road, this apartment had absolutely everything you could want for a holiday.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at this stunning hotel. It’s a fantastic place in an excellent location. The apartment was modern, spotless, and spacious, offering a gorgeous 5-star view from the balcony. Everything was comfortable, stylish, and impeccably maintained. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return!

Wow, wow, wow. Even though I was on a solo trip, I opted for the 2-bedroom unit because I wanted the full beach view. And, oh my, it was an incredible experience. I savored every second. The unit came with a coffee machine, a decent toaster, and a kettle. I even visited the pool twice, and my friend's kids had an absolute blast. Plus, I got my laundry done before heading home. I'll definitely be coming back!

After exploring Snapper Rocks, we decided to keep walking along the beach towards Rainbow Bay — and I’m so glad we did. ❤️ Right beside the beach, we came across Rainbow Bay Surf Life Saving Club. At first, we were just looking for somewhere to sit down, have some food and rest our legs… but it ended up becoming one of my favourite afternoons on the Gold Coast. We chose the outdoor seating, and WOW… 🌊☀️ The ocean in front of us, blue sky, cool winter breeze and the sound of the waves — just sitting there made me completely forget about time. Sometimes travelling isn’t about rushing from one attraction to another. It’s these slow afternoons that become the best memories. And the food surprised us too! 😋 We ordered calamari, beer-battered flathead, beef brisket fettuccine, chilli prawn marinara fettuccine and buffalo wings. Everything paired perfectly with the seaside atmosphere. 🍺 And don’t leave without trying an Australian beer! There were so many local beers on tap that I didn’t even know which one to choose. Having a cold beer overlooking Rainbow Bay somehow made it taste even better. 😂 It was winter when we visited, so swimming wasn’t really on our agenda. Instead, we spent the afternoon eating, drinking, chatting and enjoying the view. No rushing. No itinerary. Just enjoying Australia. 🇦🇺 Rainbow Bay is also known for its beautiful, well-maintained beach, and when you see how clean the sand and water are, you’ll understand why this area receives so much praise. 🏖️✨ 💰 Our meal: AUD160.37 for our group — with that view and experience, I’d happily spend an afternoon here again. This was our second time staying at this accommodation, and once again, we couldn't find a single fault, including with the friendly front desk staff. It's in a perfect location, with numerous restaurants within a 5-minute walk and the beach just across the road. The apartment was equipped with everything we needed—comfortable beds, a coffee machine, laundry facilities in the unit, and it was very clean and secure. Public transport to the grocery store was convenient. The verandah was a fantastic spot for whale watching in August. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at X Kirra Apartments and can't recommend it enough! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful. Check-in was a breeze, and the convenient parking made settling in completely hassle-free. The location is unbeatable. Gorgeous beach views and easy beach access were standout features, and it was incredibly convenient for visiting local attractions, shops, and a great selection of restaurants. Everything we wanted was just a short distance away. Our apartment was modern, spacious, and immaculately clean. It had everything we could need for a comfortable stay, truly making it feel like a home away from home. We especially enjoyed the TVs, which were perfect for casting from our phones, plus they already had streaming services set up. The Wi-Fi was dependable and worked flawlessly throughout our visit. In summary, X Kirra Apartments went beyond our expectations. The perfect location, beautifully equipped apartments, top-notch facilities, and genuinely friendly staff made our experience so memorable. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a stylish, convenient, and comfortable accommodation! The abundance of beautiful plants and flowers in the surrounding area was a delightful bonus!

We booked an oceanview apartment to offer our overseas guest a complete beach experience. The apartment was spotlessly clean, the view was breathtaking, and the location was conveniently close to the beach and nearby restaurants. Highly recommend.

Just a week for the two of us, first time in ages. The hotel is lovely, though the toilets don't flush very well, and the noise from the pub on street level at the Surfers Paradise end is quite loud. Besides those issues, the location is excellent—central to everything. We left the car in the hotel and walked everywhere. The area offers great food and entertainment.

We had the most wonderful stay; the apartment we stayed in offered breathtaking views and was beautifully furnished. It's a fantastic place to stay, with dining spots just below and everything conveniently nearby. We can't wait to return!

A fabulous place to stay. From the reception team to the linen on the beds, everything is top-notch. The apartment is clean and incredibly comfortable. Having a laundry and kitchen made the holiday so convenient. The oceanfront view is definitely worth the extra cost. I've already rebooked!
