#ancientbuildings During my summer vacation, I had the chance to explore the Old Fortress of Corfu, and it was a fantastic experience! 🏰🌿 Located on the eastern side of Corfu Town, the fortress is easily accessible and offers stunning views of the Ionian Sea. The entrance fee was about €8, which felt like a bargain given the rich history and panoramic vistas. Walking through the fortress, I was struck by its impressive architecture and the sense of history that permeates every corner. The well-preserved walls and the various exhibits, including historical cannons and old maps, provided a deep dive into Corfu’s past. The climb to the top of the fortress was well worth it for the breathtaking views of the city and coastline. 🌅🗺️ After exploring the fortress, I wandered around Corfu Town, which is full of charming streets, vibrant markets, and cozy cafés. There's a lot of queue for taking pictures on this iconic trademark. This is truly as magical and beautiful as you see in pictures. Greek island with Venetian architecture 😍

The old town is situated on the eastern side of the island and overlooks the beautiful glimmering waters of the Ionian Sea. Due to its history, the architecture in the old town is undoubtedly influenced by the Venetian rule giving it a very romantic feel ❤️. I love having a stroll especially in the evening! Don’t miss the visit to the old fortress! The fortress isn’t too big but bring your swim gear as you can also swim right by the old fortress right by Mandraki Gate. Such an amazing experience to be floating around in the sea and watch the sun set while the people on the yacht by the marina getting ready for dinner! Lastly if you’re into Greek sandals, I’d highly recommend the Corfu Sandals shop at Φιλελλήνων 3, Kerkira 491 00, Greece! Plenty of choices and size and they are all made on the island! The architecture is a mix of Venetian, French, and British influences, making it truly unique. Exploring is free, but I did visit the Old Fortress for about 8 euros, and the views from the top are absolutely stunning! I spent my days wandering through the charming alleyways, discovering quaint shops and local cafés. Don’t miss the Liston promenade for a coffee break—it's the perfect spot to people-watch ☕. The nearby Spianada Square is also beautiful, especially during sunset. If you have time, take a short drive to the Achilleion Palace; the entrance fee is around 12 euros, and it’s worth it for the beautiful gardens and history. #traveldiaries 📍Address: Breeze coffee and bakery Just before the immigration counters at Corfu Airport, I stumbled upon Breeze Coffee and Eatery, and it was a delightful surprise. They had a traditional feta pie that caught my eye — warm, flaky, and packed with that delicious, tangy feta flavor. It was the perfect local bite before heading through security. What really made my day, though, was spotting cinnamon rolls! I hadn’t seen them in ages, and they looked absolutely delicious, with that perfect swirl and glaze. It was such a pleasant discovery in an airport setting, where you don’t always expect such quality and variety. Breeze Coffee and Eatery definitely added a nice touch to my travel experience!

The aroma of freshly baked pastries immediately drew me in, and their croissants were absolutely lovely. Flaky, buttery, and golden, they were just what I needed to start my journey on a high note. The display was filled with other tempting French delights as well, from pain au chocolat to delicate tarts, all looking freshly made and delicious. The bakery had a cozy, inviting vibe, which made it a great place to relax for a few minutes before my flight. It was a pleasant surprise to find such quality pastries right at the airport!
