You can find the following information online: Summer in Cuba (June, July, August) is a hot, humid, and rainy season. ⛈️ We've been to Cuba twice: in June 2024 and 2025. Temperatures during these periods ranged from 25°C to 35°C. Both times, the rains were brief, occurring in the evening, lasting 20-30 minutes, approximately once every 3-4 days. ☔️ Sometimes, we didn't even notice them. Therefore, I can confidently say that this "rainy season" shouldn't be a reason to cancel a trip, unlike in Asia, where rains can really last for a week. ‼️Between November and March, there's a chance of encountering a Portuguese man-of-war in the ocean. These aren't jellyfish, but siphonophores (a colony of organisms), whose stings are extremely painful and dangerous. They have long tentacles (up to 30-50 meters!) that can be almost invisible in the water. Even a dead man-of-war washed ashore retains its venom for several days. Touching one causes: · Severe, burning, shooting pain. · Red blisters on the skin. 🌪️ We also found information online about frequent storms in the summer. On both our June trips, there wasn't a single storm, just a calm, azure ocean. The humidity 💦 in June is indeed high, clothes don't dry, the heat is more intense, and breathing is harder. But if you're a tourist who spends your entire vacation lying on the beach under an umbrella, only going to the bar and the ocean, it's quite bearable. But for an active vacation with excursions, such weather was a bit challenging, but we're no pushovers. We cooled off in bars or in air-conditioned cars when traveling between locations, which is definitely something to consider on long trips. 🌞The high season in Cuba is considered to be winter. But as our guide said, for them, it's the tourist season, as Cuba is warm all year round, and the flow of tourists increases in winter. But for Cubans, just like for us, the high season is summer. #Cuba #Trinidad #Varadero We took a three-city tour from Varadero: Santa Clara, Trinidad, and Cienfuegos. The total cost was $90 per person. The trip took place in the summer of 2025. We liked Trinidad the most. What kind of city is it? It is the capital of the province of Sancti Spiritus. It is located on the coast in the southern part of the island, near Puerto de Casilda Bay in the Caribbean Sea. Together with the Valle de los Ingenios, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. Trinidad is often called an "open-air museum" due to its well-preserved colonial buildings. Attractions include: 📌 Plaza Mayor (main square). It houses several architectural monuments with museums where you can learn about the history of Cuba before the Spanish conquest. The square features a park with palm trees and benches, as well as the Church of the Holy Trinity, a late 19th-century church with a high nave, chapels, and arches. 📌 Church of the Holy Trinity. Inside, you can see a wooden altar and a 13th-century statue of Jesus Christ. 📌 Palacio Brunet. A yellow, two-story mansion from the early 19th century with blue-painted doors, windows, and a wooden balcony. It now houses the Romantic Museum. 📌 And most importantly, the beautiful streets are a must-see. Overall, it's worth setting aside one day to visit Trinidad. This city will definitely be unforgettable.

Deciding whether to travel to Cuba depends on your expectations, preferences, and willingness to accept some of the peculiarities of this country. We have been to Cuba twice and would like to share our thoughts on whether it is worth visiting Cuba and Havana. Havana is an open-air museum: colonial architecture, 1950s retro cars, no outdoor advertising, open house doors, street musicians. It feels like stepping into the mid-20th century. The Capitol (a replica of Washington's). For just $20 per person, we got inside and, thanks to a Russian-speaking guide, learned a lot of interesting facts. Additionally, Revolution Square, the Grand Theater, the Malecon promenade, La Fuerza fortress, and Hemingway's house-museum all contribute to the city's unique charm. And, of course, Cuba's main attraction is its people. They are open, friendly, and eager to communicate. However, you should be very cautious—some of these friendly people are keen to help and earn money from tourists, which can spoil the impression of the city. In conclusion, Havana is a city for those seeking experiences, history, and local color rather than a beach getaway. If you are ready to endure some inconveniences for a unique experience, the trip will meet your expectations. If you're heading to Cuba and looking for a place to stay, I'd recommend "Yovanna Casa," one of the top three casas recommended by Koreans. ☑️ Yovanna Casa - 2 bedrooms: 3 beds per room (no gender distinction) - 1 bathroom (best with hot water) - Breakfast provided - Kitchen available - The hostess is incredibly friendly 👍🏻 Most Koreans stay here, and it's safe! And best of all, Yovanna Casa has an information booklet for Koreans! This book is filled with helpful tips from people who have actually stayed here. Traveling independently might not be safe, but taking a guided tour from Varadero in a minivan with air conditioning is a great option to explore this colorful and vibrant city. The journey from Varadero to Havana takes about 2 hours. Tours between Varadero and Havana usually include a stop at Cuba's highest bridge (Bacunayagua, 112 m). There, you can try Cuba's most delicious piña colada served in a pineapple (extra charge - $5). It is located in Plaza de la Revolución Che Guevara on Avenue de los Desfiles, approximately one kilometer from the city center. It was opened on December 28, 1988, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Battle of Santa Clara—the final and decisive battle of the Cuban Revolution, in which Che Guevara emerged victorious. The centerpiece of the architectural composition is a 7-meter-tall bronze statue of Che Guevara on a 15-meter-tall granite pedestal. The total height of the monument is 22 meters. Che Guevara is depicted wearing a worn leather jacket, holding a machine gun in his lowered hand. The inscription "Hasta la victoria siempre" ("Always until victory!") is carved into the pedestal. The monument is surrounded by four steles with bas-reliefs and sayings. They depict scenes from the revolutionary's life: 📌 The left cubic stele bears Che Guevara's words about revolution being the first step. 📌 The large stele depicts Che with Fidel Castro and Camilo Cienfuegos in the Sierra Maestra mountains. 📌 One bas-relief shows Che as Minister of Industry. 📌 Another depicts teachers, students, and pioneers saluting with the slogan "We will be like Che." 📌 The elongated stele contains the full text of Che Guevara's farewell letter to Fidel Castro. Here lie the remains of Ernesto Che Guevara and 29 of his comrades, killed in 1967 in Bolivia while attempting to organize an armed uprising. The burial ceremony took place only in 1997 after the remains were discovered under an airstrip in Vallegrande, Bolivia. Fidel Castro attended the ceremony and personally lit the eternal flame. At the mausoleum is a museum. Its collection includes photographs, Che Guevara's personal belongings (a beret, a medical diploma, and an asthma inhaler), historical documents from the revolution, the revolutionary's embalmed hands, and his farewell letter to Fidel Castro. Unfortunately, photography is prohibited inside, so this place must be visited in person. We stopped by on our way from Varadero to Trinidad.
