This is a small experiment. Starting today, I'll record my daily travels like a diary, leaving a record for myself 📝. I feel like I've been to many places but never shared them, but this Christmas and New Year's trip was something I planned carefully for months, so I want to document it properly. I took an early Cathay Pacific flight to Taipei this morning. Immigration still took almost an hour. After landing, I went straight to my favorite coffee shop: 📍RuFous Coffee I love their orange liqueur iced drip coffee; the taste is very similar to Mont Blanc in Melbourne, and I drink it almost every time. This time, I tried their apple pie, which was a pleasant surprise and perfectly matched the winter atmosphere. The ice cream with the warm baked apple was very layered. 📍Breeze Then I strolled around Breeze and bought a modern Chinese-style dress because of a discount. The auntie was incredibly helpful and even personally helped me with the tax refund. I was quite surprised that luxury goods were also included in the discount; they had a full selection of Buccellati items, and it was about 1,000 HKD cheaper than in Hong Kong, but I had already ordered one in Hong Kong, so I was still hesitant. I must say, the service in Taipei is so much better than in Hong Kong. 📍Proverbs Hotel This time I booked a designer hotel under the Marriott group, very close to Fuxing SOGO. Actually, I prefer staying in the East District or Da'an District because they're newer. The hotel is very stylish and new, and there are several bars I've been to before downstairs, as well as lots of snacks. Perhaps they knew it was my birthday after checking my ID, so the hotel even gave me a birthday drink! The welcome cocktail was also delicious! All the toiletries were from Culti. 📍Xinyi Breeze + Mitsukoshi Sky Plaza This was probably the area with the strongest Christmas atmosphere. The lighting reminded me of Christmas I spent in Roppongi last year 🎄 They even created a snowy atmosphere, which was great for taking pictures. 📍Michelin-starred restaurant – Xiangse 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Okay, here comes my most surprising fine dining experience of the year! I'll dedicate a separate post to it later when I have time. It was truly a feast for the eyes, with excellent service and absolutely delicious food. The location is in a former residence, with an overall retro and French ambiance. The chef incorporates many local Taiwanese ingredients, and since his wife is Tibetan, there are also Tibetan elements. Who would have thought I'd try butter tea for the first time in Taipei? The non-alcoholic pairings were also wonderful; each cup paired perfectly with the dishes. During the meal, you can even create a design using stamps, which is completed just as you finish eating – a truly collectible item. I'd definitely like to try their spring menu! 📍Eslite Bookstore Finally, I wanted to keep a record as a birthday memento, so I bought a Jay Chou album, *Moji*, at Eslite Bookstore. Xing has a long, narrow space with a lot of wood in the interior, creating a warm atmosphere. I especially love the cute two-seater by the window. Besides coffee and tea, they also offer sandwiches, salads, and desserts. It was packed on the weekend, but the owner was incredibly friendly and never seemed impatient, which earned me a lot of points.
