🗓️ September 21, 2025 (Sunday) 📍HAY HOUSE (Photos 1–7) 📍Magasin du Nord (Photos 8–11) 🛍️ Purchases: - HAY WEEKEND BAG S: ¥5,545 (229 DKK) - Østerlandsk Thehus MERMAID TEA (16 teabags): ¥2,190 (89.95 DKK) - LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW SMALL ×2: ¥4,698 (194 DKK) HAY HOUSE, the flagship store of the popular Danish brand HAY, is a must-visit. I arrived thinking it closed at 6 PM, but they announced it was closing in 5 minutes—turns out it closes at 5 PM on Sundays 🥲. I was really looking forward to it, so it was quite disappointing. If you plan to visit on a Sunday, be mindful of the closing time. Although my visit was brief, the store was stylish and adorable. I couldn’t stop thinking about a tote bag I saw there, so I searched for another nearby store that might carry HAY products and found Magasin du Nord, a department store open until 8 PM. Luckily, they had the tote bag I wanted (Photo 8), and I managed to purchase it! It was about ¥1,000 cheaper than buying it in Japan. The basement of Magasin du Nord is great for souvenir shopping. I found Østerlandsk Thehus, a tea shop I had planned to visit (Photo 10). They offer a wide variety of teas with cute packaging, making it hard to choose. I decided on MERMAID TEA 🧜. I bought the teabags, but they also have mini tins that are perfect for gifts or personal use. You could buy several and compare flavors. The shop offers samples, and the staff were very kind and helpful with recommendations. Another item I bought in the basement was chocolate from LAKRIDS BY BÜLOW. I had seen this brand at airports before and was intrigued by its stylish packaging. They happened to have it here, and after sampling, I decided to buy two small packs to share with a friend (Photo 11). They even gave us a freebie. While the sample tasted great, when I tried it back in Japan, I found the flavor puzzling. Upon checking the packaging, I realized it was licorice coated in chocolate. (Maybe the ambiance made it taste better in Denmark 🤔?) The chocolate coating was delicious, so if you’re not averse to licorice, I recommend trying it. Due to time constraints, I only explored HAY and the basement, but I wish I had more time to browse the entire department store. It’s open until 8 PM and is a great spot for souvenir shopping. Magasin du Nord also offers tax-free services. I don’t remember the minimum purchase amount, but it was relatively easy to qualify. While I completed the tax-free process at the store, I couldn’t finalize it at the airport because the tax refund counter was closed. I learned the importance of researching and allowing extra time for such procedures. If you’re like me and tend to cut things close, be careful! *Note: The closing times mentioned are based on my visit and may have changed. Please confirm them before your trip.*

🗓️2025/09/20 (Saturday) 📍Frederiksborg Slot (Frederiksborg Castle) Duration: Approximately 2 hours 🎫 Using the Copenhagen Card I visited Frederiksborg Castle, located in Hillerød, about an hour away from Copenhagen Central Station. I hadn't heard of this castle until I saw it in a guidebook, but it turned out to be a stunning spot with luxurious interiors and beautiful gardens. I highly recommend it as a sightseeing destination for anyone visiting Copenhagen! Frederiksborg Castle is built on an island in the middle of a lake and now serves as the National History Museum. One of the highlights of the castle is the church inside, but unfortunately, I couldn't explore it as there was a wedding taking place on the day of my visit 🥲 Such a shame. As for the gardens, you can access them from the side without entering the castle. Many locals seemed to be enjoying a relaxed time by the lakeside, and the peaceful and leisurely atmosphere was truly charming 🌿 I spent about 2 hours there, taking my time at first and then speeding up towards the end. I think 3 hours would be the perfect amount of time to fully enjoy the experience.

🗓️September 19, 2025 - September 29, 2025 I traveled to six cities in four countries over 11 days and nine nights! This page shares the actual itinerary I used in Copenhagen on the second and third days. Since I only stayed in Copenhagen for two days, I bought a 48-hour Copenhagen Card and explored a lot! The card included admission fees and transportation to various attractions, and I was able to use it to visit Frederiksborg Castle and the Louisiana Museum of Art, which are a little further away. It was very convenient, not requiring me to buy tickets each time, and the unlimited transportation option meant I could just hop on and off without worrying about the cost. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to see a lot! I was able to see most of the tourist spots in two days, but I regretted not having enough time to shop despite the many shops I wanted to see. Copenhagen became such a favorite of mine that I want to return immediately. 🥹🇩🇰 I wish I could have stayed at least one more day! I've also included approximate times to the extent I know them. Honestly, as a bread lover, I've tried breads from around the world, but Danish bread is my personal favorite. 🥰 I'd like to introduce two bakeries I highly recommend to anyone planning a trip to #Copenhagen :) 📍Skt. Peders Bageri On the way to my lunch reservation, I stumbled upon Skt. Peders Bageri! It was the only bakery where locals always lined up. I was a little curious, but I passed. But the next day, seeing the long line again, I couldn't pass up the bakery. 😝 Inside, a wide variety of Danish breads were waiting for me, all beautifully displayed, and it was incredibly difficult to choose. I had to ask the staff for each one before deciding between the pastry topped with custard cream and icing, and the bread topped with black sesame seeds! It seemed like melted caramel mixed with butter was spread on the inside, while the outside was light, crispy, and savory. The combination was perfect. I wasn't expecting much, but it was so delicious that I was blown away😇 The custard-covered pastry was also a hit. I tasted the custard cream, which was less sweet and more flavorful than the nata I had in Portugal. (I removed the icing before eating it.) It was so delicious, I was shocked... It was the best custard cream I've ever had in my life! Aside from this, I happened to see some breads on display at a bakery while walking along #Strøget shopping street. They all looked so delicious, especially the shapes. Haha. So I decided to try them the next morning, and that's where I went: #BUKA!! 📍BUKA #BUKA has several branches, so you can just go to the one closest to you, but the interior was just right for me. 💕 The reason I came to Buka was because of their squid-shaped bread😆!! The unique and cute shape made me want to try it. This cardamom brioche has a texture similar to pastry, soft on the outside and chewy on the inside :) Cardamom might sound a bit strange, but it's similar to ginger, so some people might like it or not. ㅎㅎㅎ On the other hand, the bread next to it is just sweet, so you can enjoy it without any worries. :) This kind of bread looks like the perfect Danish style. I ordered a pastry topped with custard cream and strawberries. When you bite into it, syrup oozes out, so be careful not to spill it. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ!! The Danish style is also evident in this cafe, with a long dining table in the center and various lights lined up directly above it. I stopped by HART Bakery, a bakery that is very popular with both locals and tourists, to have a snack. HART Bakery is a chain store, so you can find it all over Copenhagen. I visited the branch right in front of the Sydhavnen Canal. I planned to get some bread to go and taste it while looking at the canal. When I visited HART BAKERY around 4pm, most of the bread was already sold out. However, I was lucky that there was some cardamom that I wanted to buy. Cadamom is a popular bread in Northern Europe, and HART Bakery's Twice Baked Cardamom is a special feature of the twice-baked, crispy cardamom. It’s not cheap at 46.41 krone (about 10,000 won) for one loaf, but that’s just the way things are in Northern Europe. But since I’m traveling, I’ll buy some! I sat down in front of the canal with the Twice Baked Cardamom I packed and tasted it. The black currant jam inside wasn’t too sweet, which was nice, and it added a refreshing taste to the entire loaf, so it was superb! If you’re traveling to Copenhagen, Denmark, try some Nordic bread at HART Bakery 🇩🇰♥️

| Stayed at a divine design hotel in Copenhagen. This was my favorite and most comfortable hotel during my Europe trip. The overall design is very stylish, more like a serviced apartment. The furniture, tableware, cookware, office supplies, and toiletries are all Nordic brands. The room has a microwave and induction cooker, and there are Miele washing machines and dryers downstairs (very convenient to control via the app!). There is plenty of storage space, with a large closet that can even fit two suitcases. The beds are also king size, and the small steps can be pushed in during the day to create more space. I noticed that the charging port at the head of the bed even has a type-c port, which is really new. Each floor has a "restock" room, where you can get more daily necessities if you run out. The social space on the top floor is beautiful! The neighborhood around the hotel is also very safe and quiet, with residential buildings and office buildings. It seems to be next to a TV station (?). Although it looks like it's not in the center on the map, Copenhagen is not that big, and the transportation is very convenient. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the metro station. Next to the metro station is a large supermarket, and it is only 3 stops (about 15 minutes) to the downtown area such as Kongens Nytorv, which is very convenient. I didn't expect to find my dream hotel in Copenhagen. Hotel Alexandra is like moving a showroom of vintage furniture back home. Compared to the popular The Sanders and Audo, this place is simply a dream house for vintage lovers! With 61 rooms, each room has its own theme, and there are also theme rooms dedicated to famous Danish designers. When I was planning my trip, I was attracted by this "The Egg & Swan" room, which is themed on Arne Jacobson's works and pays tribute to this great mid-century designer. The room features the two most famous Swan and Egg chairs, as well as some furniture and photographic works from that period. The whole room is completely my dream home. Those works of art that were out of reach in the showroom have instantly become everyday companions, how romantic! Moreover, these two chairs together cost more than 100,000 RMB, which makes me feel that the ticket price is worth it. And compared to most of the mini spaces in Europe, the nearly 30 square meter space definitely enhances the living experience. The entire space is full of 1960s DNA, materials, colors, and details, like a time machine, allowing me to see the beauty of that golden age. In the evening, you can sit on Finn Juhl's Poet Sofa in the lobby, choose a favorite record, and have a glass of complimentary wine offered by the hotel. I really hope time can freeze at this moment. The hotel is also located in the heart of the city center, just steps away from the City Hall and Tivoli Park, and is also close to the main shopping district, the Glyptoteket, and popular local restaurants, which led me to pass by Alexandra every day even after I moved to Grand Joanne.

11-Day Norway, Iceland, and Denmark Trip Cost Breakdown Here's a breakdown of my trip to the three most popular Nordic countries during the Lunar New Year. First, I should mention that I went with a friend, so the prices are split between the two of us. I consider myself to be quite frugal, so we stayed in hostels and shared rooms in all three countries, trying not to waste a single penny. 1️⃣✈💰CNY 9,625 for three countries. We went during the 2025 Lunar New Year, but booked in May 2024. The price of flights doubled after that, so we saved CNY 6,000–7,000. 🎫 I recommend booking flights to European countries in advance. It's actually cheaper to travel abroad during the Lunar New Year. The flights to these three countries were quite cheap. 2️⃣Hotels 🏨 I mostly booked hostels or budget hotels, which cost around CNY 100 per person per day. The prices in the photos are for two people, so divide by two. I shared a room with a few friends in Iceland, which cost CNY 500 per person per day. We could also cook together, which saved us some money on food. Iceland > Norway > Denmark. Any room in Iceland costs over CNY 1,000, and they're very small. I highly recommend the Fossil Hotel, which is right outside Stop 12. All the tours meet here, so it's very convenient and not expensive. 3️⃣Food + transportation, CNY 500 per person per day. Prices are highest in Iceland and Norway. Prices in Denmark are about the same as in China. We spent over CNY 1,000 on food every day. A taxi ride in Norway costs CNY 500, so try to use public transportation as much as possible. Public transportation is free for locals in Norway. 🆓 We took the bus a few times and no one checked our tickets. 4️⃣Tours. The most expensive part of the trip was the one- and two-day tours. The whale 🐳 tour cost CNY 2,000, and the two-day glacier lake tour cost CNY 4,000. Other one-day tours cost several hundred, such as the aurora, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and Golden Circle tours. We spent over CNY 20,000 on fixed costs before we even left for Northern Europe. Once we got there, we could only eat expensive Western food every day. I regret not bringing instant noodles. Luckily, we cooked with our friends at the hostel in Iceland. The smoke alarm even went off. We roasted chicken and lamb ourselves. Chinese food is the best. We spent a total of CNY 27,000. Compared to the CNY 50,000–100,000 trips to Iceland I saw online, I think I did a good job saving money.

Hans Christian Andersen Statue: The statue of Hans Christian Andersen sits in City Hall Square, wearing a trench coat and a top hat. It is about 3 meters high, facing the street and looking into the distance. 💶Currency: Denmark uses the Danish krone, and the Faroe Islands have their own currency, the Faroese krone, which is equivalent to the Danish krone. International credit cards are also accepted. 🧥Clothing: The climate in Denmark is relatively warm and comfortable, but the climate in the Faroe Islands is more changeable, with strong winds, so you need to prepare warm clothes. 🥗Food: Danish roast pork is a typical traditional Danish dish, loved by the people of this fairy tale kingdom. It is best served with a glass of cool and refreshing Nordic blueberry juice, which is a perfect match. 🚌Transportation: Transportation in Copenhagen is convenient, with subways, buses, trains, etc. The Faroe Islands are mainly self-driving, and you can rent a car to get around.
