Belarus travel guide and discussion

🤗 Hi everyone! I love traveling and planning interesting itineraries, and one of the ways I map out my trips is by using souvenir stamp passports. 🚞 The idea behind these passports is that they serve as a guide to a specific region, city or even an entire country. They list various locations you can visit to collect souvenir stamps. It’s incredibly engaging—fun for both first-time visitors and seasoned travelers looking to discover something new. 🗺️ I have various souvenir stamp passports from Korea, China, Japan, the UAE, Russia, and Belarus. ❓Have you ever tried following routes like this? Have you ever collected passports and stamps as travel memories? #hotdiscussions #localexperiences #souvenirs #stamprally #stamppassport #trip #tripcom #tripmoment #travel

To be honest, I went to Mosty without any high expectations. A dendropark — so what? But I was wrong. This place is worth the detour. The park was created by forester Yuri Novogrodsky, who personally traveled to botanical gardens across the country to bring back rare saplings. They say there were over 160 species here: Crimean pine, cedars, junipers, Japanese quince, Manchurian walnut. I'm no botanist, but the greenery is impressive. What I loved most was the silence. Even though the park is right in the city, by the Neman River. Paths stretch deep into the green, old oaks and ashes cast cool shade, and the breeze from the river adds freshness. I especially liked the old sculptures — apparently there used to be two bears at the entrance and a "learned cat" on an oak. I only found remnants, but the fairy-tale feeling lingered. And the park is small and cozy — you won't get lost, but there's enough space to wander. A heads-up: don't expect perfect polish. The park fell into neglect but is now being tidied up. And in summer, expect mosquitoes — it's right by the river and forest. By the way, there's another dendropark in Belarus that gets way more hype — in Mosary, in the Glubokoye district. Lotus ponds, the tallest cross in the country, and 40 years of history. But that's a whole different story. If you're in Mosty — drop by. Even for an hour. Breathe the air, admire the rare trees, and imagine how locals strolled here 30 years ago. It's simple, honest nature. 🌿 #belarus #travel2026

Autumn is one of the best times to explore the forests around Samara. The trees turn golden, the air becomes crisp, and the forest floor is full of surprises. Mushroom hunting is more than just looking for mushrooms. It is a peaceful way to spend a day in nature, walk through the forest, and enjoy the beauty of the Russian countryside. With a basket in hand, you never know what you'll discover around the next tree. For me, it’s one of those simple autumn traditions that makes the season special. you may come across: Porcini mushrooms Chanterelles Boletus mushrooms Aspen mushrooms Honey mushrooms Saffron milk caps Butter mushrooms Russulas Milk mushrooms My dream is to go on a mushroom tour to Belarus 🇧🇾 #travel2026 #forest #nature #naturelovers

Do you know that feeling when you have no idea where you're going, but your heart is already racing with anticipation? That's my favorite kind of weekend getaway. This time, my husband came up to me with a mysterious smile and said: "Pack for two days. Bring something nice for the evening. The rest is a surprise." No hints, no "bring your swimsuit or warm socks." Just trust and excitement. We got in the car and drove. The landscapes changed outside the window, I kept guessing where we were heading, and my husband just smiled slyly and stayed quiet. And when we pulled up to the gates, I gasped. It was the Pusłowski Estate near Slonim. We spent two whole days there with an overnight stay in a gorgeous hotel right on the estate grounds. It was like stepping into another era: a historic palace, a manicured park, an atmosphere of aristocratic leisure. No Google Maps, no "what's there to see" — I just soaked in every moment. Morning coffee with a park view, afternoon strolls through the halls and alleys, an evening candlelit dinner at the hotel restaurant. And you know what? It was one of the most memorable weekends I've had all year. Because I didn't plan a thing. I just was. Do you love surprises? Has anyone ever taken you somewhere unknown and it turned out better than any pre-planned vacation? Share your stories! I want to collect ideas for my next "secret" getaway! 🚗💨 #travel2026 #belarus

If you have an extra day in Minsk, consider leaving the city behind and exploring two of Belarus’s most fascinating historic places — Nesvizh and Mir. I joined a bus excursion to Nesvizh and Mir, and it turned out to be a wonderful way to discover a completely different side of Belarus. The journey was interesting from the very beginning. Instead of spending the whole day in Minsk, we travelled through the countryside, with its peaceful landscapes and small towns, heading towards two places where history feels surprisingly close. The first impression is the architecture. Magnificent residences, elegant details, old walls and beautiful surroundings create a very different atmosphere from the modern city. Everywhere you look, there is something that makes you want to stop, take a photo and listen to the story behind the place. What I enjoyed most was the feeling of travelling through different periods of history during a single day. These are not simply beautiful buildings to admire — they have their own stories, and learning about them makes the visit much more meaningful. Nesvizh impressed me with its elegant architecture and atmosphere, while Mir had its own character and a more dramatic medieval feeling. Seeing both places on the same excursion was especially interesting because, although they are relatively close to each other, each one creates a completely different impression. The excursion was well suited for a day trip: no need to plan complicated transport connections or worry about how to fit everything together. You can simply enjoy the journey, the views and the stories along the way. If you are staying in Minsk for several days, I definitely recommend adding Nesvizh and Mir to your plans. It is a beautiful, interesting and atmospheric escape from the city — especially if you love architecture, history and places with a strong sense of the past. For me, it was one of those travel days when the destination itself was only part of the experience. The road, the stories, the architecture and the atmosphere all came together to create a memorable day. ✨ Have you visited Nesvizh or Mir? Which one impressed you more? #Nesvizh #MirCastle #Belarus #Minsk #BelarusTravel #NesvizhCastle #Mir #HistoryAndArchitecturere #TravelMoments #TripMoments #hotdiscussions

#underratedspots We knew that BELAZ made some of the world’s largest mining trucks, so their size was not exactly a surprise. At least, that was what we thought before arriving at the factory in Zhodino. Apparently, our imagination had interpreted “very large” rather modestly. From a distance, the trucks simply look like oversized vehicles. Then you walk up to one of the wheels and realise that it is several times taller than you. No clever camera angle is needed to make a person look tiny here—the BELAZ handles that perfectly well on its own. The factory tour is much more than a display of finished trucks. The standard route includes the company museum, the main assembly workshop and a ride around the factory grounds by electric bus. The final stop is the exhibition area, where visitors can see different types of mining equipment and stand beside the 450-tonne BELAZ. Its wheel alone is about four metres high. This was the most engaging part for us. Walking between the machines, looking underneath them and seeing people beside the tyres made their scale much easier to understand. Even the ladders leading to the cabins look more like staircases attached to a building than part of a vehicle. By that point, our usual idea of what counts as a “big truck” needed a serious update. It is also possible to ride in a mining truck with a factory driver on a special test track. We did not add this option to our tour, but it is available for an extra fee. Only one passenger is allowed in the cabin, and the ride lasts around five or six minutes. Practical information 📍 BELAZ factory, 4, 40 Let Oktyabrya Street, Zhodino, Belarus 🎟️ Current group-tour price: BYN 25 for visitors aged 1–14 and BYN 35 from age 15 🚛 Optional truck ride: BYN 90 per person 🕘 Tours are offered daily from 9:00 to 18:00 📞 Advance booking is required: +375 1775 2-79-79 🦺 Visitors must follow the guide’s route and wear the provided high-visibility vest 💡 The machines on display may vary because these are working and prototype vehicles rather than permanent museum exhibits. This is not a conventional sightseeing stop, but that is precisely why it was so interesting. You do not need to understand mining machinery to enjoy the tour. Standing beside a four-metre wheel is convincing enough.

During my trip to Belarus, I decided to visit the Khatyn Memorial Complex, located about an hour’s drive from Minsk. I went there by car, and the journey itself gave me time to prepare for a place that is very different from the usual tourist destinations. Khatyn is not a place you visit simply to take beautiful photographs or see impressive architecture. It is a memorial site connected with one of the tragic chapters of Belarusian history during the Second World War. The atmosphere changes as soon as you arrive. The space is open and quiet, and the memorial landscape makes you slow down and pay attention. Instead of a traditional museum experience, much of the story is told through the landscape, monuments and symbolic elements. Walking through the complex, I found myself thinking less about individual buildings and more about the people whose lives were destroyed by the war. The simplicity of the memorial makes the experience particularly powerful. There are no unnecessary decorations — the surroundings themselves create a feeling of silence and reflection. One of the things that stayed with me most was the contrast between the peaceful landscape and the history remembered here. Today there are trees, open fields and a quiet sky, while the memorial reminds visitors of events that happened here during the war. I think places like Khatyn are important not because they are easy or pleasant to visit, but because they give us an opportunity to remember. Travel is not always about discovering beautiful places and having happy experiences. Sometimes it is also about understanding the history of the country you are visiting and taking a moment to reflect. If you are staying in Minsk and have a car, Khatyn can be visited as a day trip. I would recommend allowing enough time not to rush through the memorial. This is a place where it feels appropriate to walk slowly, look around and simply be present. I left Khatyn with a quiet feeling that stayed with me long after we drove back to Minsk. Some places are remembered for their beauty. Others are remembered for what they make you feel and think about. Khatyn belongs to the second kind. #Khatyn #KhatynMemorial #Belarus #BelarusTravel #Minsk #HistoryOfBelarus #WWIIHistory #TravelMoments #hotdiscussions

I hope you’ll have better luck with shopping than we did. It didn’t work out for us. We only bought socks and Belarusian lingerie, which was actually great 😄. Otherwise, all the Inditex stores were quite disappointing. Alternative milk is rare—available only in new, trendy coffee shops. I really loved the “Marx” coffee shop near the theatre. I highly recommend it. It’s not that cheap there 🤪 (except for taxis). If you think you can travel on a tight budget, let me know if you manage to pull it off. It’s hard to get a taxi from the airport at night—unless you get very lucky. We waited 40 minutes. If you’ve been to Minsk and have anything to add, share it in the comments 🥔 #minsk

If it's your first time in Minsk, here is the route I would take through the center—no unnecessary detours or backtracking required 👇 📍 1. Red Church One of Minsk's most recognizable landmarks. 📍 2. Independence Square This is where you'll find the Government House, the Red Church, and the famous underground shopping mall. 📍 3. October Square The main square in the very center of the city. 📍 4. Independence Avenue Take a stroll down Minsk's main thoroughfare and admire the beautiful architecture. 📍 5. Victory Square A monumental square with a tall obelisk—one of the city's signature sights. 📍 6. Upper Town The historic center, with its cozy streets, beautiful buildings, squares, and cafes. 📍 7. Minsk City Hall The final stop of the walk and a symbol of the historic center. ✨ Allow 3–4 hours for the route if you want to walk leisurely, take photos, and stop at interesting spots along the way. ☕️ Coffee break — Stories A cozy spot right in the center, perfect for a quick break during your walk. 🍽️ Grab a bite nearby — KUHMISTR A great option if you want to try authentic Belarusian cuisine. 💾 Save this route for your first trip to Minsk 🇧🇾

A clean and spacious capital where grand Soviet-era avenues, historic churches, and peaceful riverside scenery come together. Passed through the iconic Gates of Minsk, visited beautiful Orthodox churches, and reflected at the Island of Tears memorial. Wandered around the charming Trinity Suburb, watching people kayaking, riding speedboats, and pedalling boats along the Svislach River, with Minsk's modern skyline in the background. Relaxed in Gorky Park, took in the views from the Ferris wheel, paid respects at Victory Square and its Eternal Flame, browsed the historic GUM Department Store, and explored October Square and Independence Square, the heart of the Belarusian capital. Minsk is a fascinating blend of history, green spaces, and impressive architecture, offering a unique glimpse into Eastern Europe. #Minsk #Belarus #GatesOfMinsk #TrinitySuburb #IslandOfTears #VictorySquare #GorkyPark #IndependenceSquare #TravelPhotography #Wanderlust #lostpanda ✈️📸

🇧🇾 Before my trip to Minsk, I asked around to find out where to get a truly delicious meal. The responses from my friends were quite unexpected: many said there aren't many good spots, and that Belarusian cuisine consists mostly of heavy and very filling dishes. But over the course of a week, we decided to check out the recommendations for ourselves. In the end, we found several places I would definitely go back to, as well as a few options for when you just need a quick and satisfying meal. I’ve put everything together in one list—save this so you don't have to scramble for a restaurant once you're in Minsk 👇 🥔 Pellegrino — Italian cuisine. One of my favorite spots: a pleasant atmosphere and a great overall dining experience. 📍 Revolutsionnaya, 4 🥔 Darling Bistro & Bar — European cuisine. A beautiful and calm spot that’s perfect for breakfast or dinner. The eel omelet is delicious. 📍 Internatsionalnaya, 25A 🥔 U Ratushi — Belarusian cuisine. We’d recommend this place if you want to try specifically traditional dishes. 📍 Gertsena, 1 Other places worth trying: 🥔 La Scala Trattoria Ignazio — Italian cuisine. I especially liked the pizza. 📍 Kirova, 11 🥔 Litviny — Belarusian cuisine. Another good option for getting to know the local dishes. 📍 Kulman, 3 🥔 Garage — a large menu with diverse cuisine. A convenient choice when you want to choose from a wide variety of dishes. 📍 Oktyabrskaya, 23 If you just need a quick bite: 🥔 Vasilki — a chain of cafes serving Belarusian cuisine. They have locations in various districts of the city, so it’s easy to find the nearest one. 🥔 Terra Pizza — a chain of cafes serving pizza and other dishes. A solid choice for a quick snack. And most importantly—our experiment proved that you can definitely find delicious food in Minsk. 🇧🇾

Belarus has Minsk and Brest. But in the northeast lies a city that has inspired artists for over a century. Vitebsk is a small city of wide streets, a river that winds through the center, and a legacy of art that includes Marc Chagall. The history is deep. The creativity is alive. Here is how to explore this hidden Belarusian gem and save money with Trip.com. 1. The River at Dawn: Water and Silence The Western Dvina River curves through Vitebsk, its banks lined with paths and trees. By 9 AM, the city wakes. Come at 6 AM instead. The water is still. The light is soft. You will walk along the river with only the sound of birds and the rustle of leaves. It feels like a place where art and nature meet. Pro Tip: Download the Trip.com offline map for Vitebsk. It shows you the quietest routes along the river and the hidden viewpoints. The best photos are from the riverbank at sunrise, when the city glows. 2. The Chagall Museum: A Painter's World Vitebsk is the birthplace of Marc Chagall, one of the most famous artists of the 20th century. The Chagall Museum tells the story of his life and work. The exhibits are excellent. The art is vibrant. Come early. The museum is quiet, and the colors glow. Money Hack: Buy a combined ticket on Trip.com that includes the Chagall Museum and the Vitebsk Art Museum. You save about 20%. The art museum houses a collection of Belarusian and Russian art. 3. The Old Town: A Walk Through History Vitebsk's old town is a mix of wide streets, old buildings, and quiet squares. The pace is slow. The atmosphere is peaceful. Walk through the center. The details are everywhere — restored facades, hidden courtyards, and flower beds. Budget Advice: The old town is free to walk. Skip the expensive guided tours. Pick up a map from the tourist office and explore on your own. Check Trip.com for a "Vitebsk Walking Tour" that includes the old town and the river. The guide shares stories of the city's artistic past. 4. Food That Tastes Like Belarus Belarusian food is hearty and satisfying. Try Draniki — potato pancakes with sour cream, the national dish. Order Machanka — a pork stew served with pancakes. And do not miss Syrniki — cheese pancakes, best with jam. Where to Eat: Skip the expensive restaurants on the main street. Walk into the side streets and find Café Vitebsk or Restoran Dvina, where locals eat. The food is authentic, and the prices are fair. Check Trip.com for set menu deals — some places include a glass of local beer when you book through the app. Where to Stay? Book on Trip.com a guesthouse in the center. Look for something on Lenina or near the river. You will sleep in a renovated building with a view of the water, the sound of birds at dawn, and the scent of linden trees. The evenings are quiet, and the stars are bright. Conclusion: Vitebsk is not a place you rush through. It is a place you breathe in. It is a city of rivers and art, of Chagall and creativity. It is a place where history and beauty meet. Belarus is a country of resilience, but Vitebsk is its artistic soul. Come and walk the riverbank at dawn. The art is waiting. #trip_com #Belarus #Vitebsk #vitebsktravel #BelarusHiddenGems #WesternDvina #ChagallMuseum #BudgetTravel #EuropeGuide #travelbelarus #ArtisticHeritage #OldTown #HiddenBelarus #BelarusianCulture #RiverCity

#itinerarycheck Many people come to Belovezhskaya Pushcha just to see the European bison. We thought we would spend a couple of hours there too. Instead, we stayed for more than four hours without noticing how quickly the time passed. We arrived by car and explored the main visitor area entirely on foot. Our route included the Nature Museum, the wildlife enclosures and the open-air Archaeological Museum. Together, they turned what could have been a short stop into a relaxed half-day visit. We started with the Nature Museum, and I am glad we did. It is much larger than I expected, with several halls dedicated to the forests of Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the animals that live there. There are impressive displays of European bison, bears, wolves, lynx, birds and many other species. It is definitely not a museum you walk through in ten minutes. The lynx exhibit also gave us one of our funniest family photos. Seeing the museum first actually made the wildlife enclosures even more interesting because we could recognise many of the animals we had just learned about. The wildlife enclosures were easily our favourite part of the visit. We saw European bison, deer and several other animals from surprisingly close range. The deer confidently walked right up to the fence, looking as if they expected snacks from every visitor. The bison behaved very differently. They kept a respectful distance and seemed completely unimpressed by all the attention they were receiving. While walking between the attractions, we noticed a few small snakes crossing the paths. They disappeared almost immediately and were not aggressive, but it is worth watching where you step, especially on warm sunny days. We finished at the open-air Archaeological Museum, where reconstructed settlements show how people lived from the Stone Age to the early Middle Ages. After spending time with the wildlife, ending the route among ancient wooden houses felt like travelling even further back in time. Our route 1. Nature Museum 2. Wildlife enclosures 3. Open-air Archaeological Museum Practical information 📍 Location: Kamenyuki, Brest Region, Belarus 🌳 Belovezhskaya Pushcha is one of Europe’s last remaining primeval forests and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🚗 We travelled by our own car. 🚶 All three attractions are within walking distance of each other. ⏱️ Allow at least 4–5 hours if you want to enjoy the full route without rushing. 🎟️ Admission: Museum – about BYN 14, Wildlife Enclosures – about BYN 14. A combined Museum + Enclosures ticket is usually better value (around BYN 20). Prices may change, so check current rates before your visit. 👟 Wear comfortable shoes. The Archaeological Museum is about 800 metres from the main ticket office. 🐍 In warm weather, keep an eye on the walking paths. 💡 Check the opening hours before your visit, as the three attractions may close at different times. Many visitors come to Belovezhskaya Pushcha simply to tick the European bison off their travel list. For us, the bison were only part of the experience. By adding the museum and the archaeological site, what could have been a short stop became one of the most enjoyable half-days of our trip. #BelovezhskayaPushcha #Belarus #UNESCO

#kindnessontheroad Last spring, my friend and I took a day trip from Minsk to the magnificent Nesvizh and Mir Castles. These castles are amazing places. But people amazed me harder. Getting there is quite easy. You can take a train from Minsk for about an hour and then continue by bus to either Nesvizh or Mir. If you're planning the same route, I'd recommend visiting Mir Castle first. It's smaller, so you can explore it more quickly before heading to the larger and more impressive Nesvizh Castle. Our trip didn't go exactly as planned. We spent several hours wandering through the stunning halls of Nesvizh Castle and completely lost track of time. When we finally decided to continue to Mir, we realized we had missed the bus. To make things worse, we had no mobile internet, and there were no taxis available. Luckily, one of the women working at the castle ticket office came to our rescue. She called an acquaintance who kindly drove us to Mir Castle. We were incredibly grateful—without her help, we would probably have been stuck in Nesvizh for the rest of the day. As for the castles themselves, they were absolutely worth the journey. Their impressive architecture, fascinating history, beautifully preserved interiors, and peaceful surroundings make them two of the most remarkable places to visit in Belarus. 📍 My advice: set aside a full day to explore both castles. There's so much to see, and rushing through them would mean missing part of their charm.

Ready for a quick getaway near Minsk? 😍 Headed to Niasvizh District, I checked out the legendary Nesvizh Radziwiłł Castle—a perfect weekend escape, just an hour from the city and dripping with ancient beauty. Key Destination Tips: No visa required for most short-term tourists, but check updated rules! Weather is pretty mild spring-autumn—bring a light jacket. #NesvizhCastle #BelarusWeekend #TripPlanning #TravelEscape

🏰 For history lovers heading to Belarus, Mir is a can’t-miss on your map—this little town is home to the legendary Mir Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with towers right out of a fairytale and centuries of stories in its brick walls. If you want a true “knight’s night,” Hotel Mir right by the castle makes your historical adventure seamless and atmospheric! Expect views and vibes that will have your camera roll full before breakfast. 🌅 Hotel Mir stands in the heart of Mir, so you’re strolling distance from the castle—no hassle with long drives or crowded tour buses! From here, walk straight to the fortress for that magical dawn light, or catch an evening stroll by the moat after tourists clear out. The staff know their local legends, so chat them up for tips on lesser-known castle corners (and maybe a ghost story or two). Rooms are clean, comfortable, and upgraded with modern amenities to balance history with a good night’s sleep. Wi-Fi connects you fast, and the on-site restaurant serves hearty Belarusian dishes—try the draniki pancakes! For those “insta-worthy” snaps, the castle’s main entrance, courtyards, and the sweeping view from the bridge at sunset are must-shoot spots. 📸 When booking, I recommend using trip.com for smooth reservation and good rates. Consider arriving early to Mir Castle for crowd-free photos, and spend extra time exploring the gardens and nearby town for a full immersion into Belarusian history. #MirCastle #Belarus #CastleStay #HistoryTravel #TripDotCom

🤔Many of you know that you can buy an E-SIM (an electronic SIM card that you can get without going to a mobile phone store or signing a contract) on Trip. 🇧🇾 Belarus is no exception (it's included in many European mobile phone packages). 🔎 And I found and tested the best deal. It turned out to be cheaper than my friends' roaming charges. (Link below) 🛩️ Connection is simple, you can connect immediately from the border or upon landing, and you can pay with Russian cards. 🎁 A nice bonus is that Chat GPT works without any workarounds (this doesn't apply to Belarusian SIM cards, which would otherwise require registration at a mobile phone store). ⚒️ The E-SIM page has full installation instructions, but you can ask questions in the comments – I'll answer them. 👇Link to this find www.trip.com/t/NgL4ucDajV2 #minsk #belarus #minsk #belarus #communications #internet #esim #tripcomexperience #traveltips #travelwithtripcom #lifehack #tipfortourists #Minsk2026

A few days ago, I saw a post asking, "With the war in the Middle East, what other overseas countries can I visit?" Someone commented that Russia itself is still at war and is very unsafe. Based on my personal experience: I flew to Russia in the summer of 2024, when the Russia-Ukraine war was still in full swing. It wasn't hot in the summer, making it perfect for escaping the heat, and people were living very comfortably. This winter in 2026, there was absolutely no sign of war in Russia's major cities (except for the satellite positioning in Moscow). Major tourist destinations like Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Murmansk were peaceful and had nothing to do with the war. The streets were bustling with people, the snowy scenery was accompanied by Christmas lights, and the flea markets were lively—there was absolutely no sense of tension. Subways, malls, and tourist attractions were still crowded, and walking along Nevsky Prospect and Red Square at 10:00 PM was super lively. The Slavic people are friendly toward Chinese people. They were very kind when I asked for directions or help taking photos, and some even offered to help carry my things! But! Don't go to the Russia-Ukraine border or sensitive areas like Belgorod; tourist cities are completely fine. It's actually safer in the winter: everyone is celebrating the holidays, playing in the snow, and ringing in the New Year; no one is concerned about anything else~ On this trip, I also met some Chinese students from Minsk, Belarus, and St. Petersburg, and we made plans to visit Lake Baikal and Kamchatka next time. The students went to Sochi a while ago, and it was very safe too~

Russia and Belarus are two of Eastern Europe's most fascinating destinations, offering magnificent architecture, rich history, world-famous landmarks, and unique cultural experiences. If these countries are on your travel bucket list, here's an interesting question: Which ASEAN passports can enter Russia or Belarus visa-free, and which ones are eligible for an eVisa? This infographic compares the entry requirements for all 10 ASEAN passports, making it easy to see who enjoys the easiest access to these two destinations. 💡 Source: Passport Index (July 2026) Whether you're planning your next adventure or simply curious about passport strength, I hope you find this comparison helpful. 👇 If you could visit only one, would you choose Russia or Belarus? I used to panic about my phone dying and leaving me without maps and boarding passes. Now I just pack a fast charger with 2 ports, a long 2-meter cable (so I can lie in bed without craning my neck), and a compact power bank. Why am I not worried? Power outlets are everywhere now: at every seat in airports, in cafés, even on some planes. But the power bank is my backup, especially on train trips. And here's the other must-have: a printed list of hotel addresses, door codes, and contacts. If my phone dies, cracks, or gets stolen — I'm not lost. Old-school Plan B. Do you rely only on your phone, or do you have a paper backup too? How often do you hunt for outlets in random places? Or do you always have a charged Plan B? #trip #travel2026 #travel

When I first moved from Belarus to Batumi almost eight years ago, it felt like a completely different world. There were no trendy aesthetic cafes, finding a proper cappuccino was a real challenge, and familiar modern comforts like online shopping or delivery apps simply did not exist. Fast forward to today, and the transformation has been absolutely mind-blowing. Here is my #howislivingthere breakdown of what it is really like to watch a city grow up, and why it changed my life forever: 🏗️ The Expat & Tourist Boom Working directly in the local tourism industry as an experience manager gave me a front-row seat to this evolution. I watched the skyline fill up with towering high-rises, the iconic Boulevard completely transform, and stunning new art installations pop up everywhere. The massive influx of expats and tourists completely reshaped the local economy and urban space for the better. 🏡 The "Resort Village" Vibe Despite the modern skyscrapers, Batumi still holds onto a very unique dual identity: it is a bustling, vibrant tourist hub, yet remains a small, cozy village at heart. The cost of living and groceries is comfortable, the pace of life is relaxed, and everything is within reach. 🗣️ The Ultimate Integration Hack If you are planning to stay long-term, here is my absolute best advice: learn the Georgian language. It is the golden key to breaking out of the expat bubble, integrating with locals, and doing business smoothly. It changes the entire way the community interacts with you. ✈️ The Next Chapter Batumi is where I built my career, found my true community, and met my partner, Sasha. Experiencing that massive 8-year growth taught me that you can build a successful life absolutely anywhere. When we packed our bags and relocated to Vietnam this May, I was not scared to start over. The principles of adapting, finding your people, and embracing a new culture are exactly the same everywhere in the world!
