Travel Review: The Hidden Gems of Coventry City Centre & FarGo Village
Coventry City Centre
When visiting Coventry, besides checking out world-class sights like Coventry Cathedral and Holy Trinity Church, there are actually a ton of local hidden surprises! One of my personal favorites is the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum (Address: Jordan Well, Coventry CV1 5QP), which is absolutely perfect for history and art lovers. Admission used to be free, but they now charge a fee—a standard adult ticket is £5.40 (make sure to check their official website for the latest prices before you go🧐).
Just a short walk away near Coventry University, if you stroll along Cox Street, you'll spot the Delia Derbyshire Building (Address: Cox Street, Coventry CV1 5PH). The ground floor frequently hosts small exhibitions featuring everything from student designs and visual arts to creative projects. Entry is usually free, making it a great spot for photos! Plus, just outside "The Hub" right across from the Delia Derbyshire Building, they sometimes hold free outdoor photography exhibitions with a super chill vibe😎.
FarGo Village
When it comes to an artsy foodie paradise, you absolutely can't skip FarGo Village! Located on Far Gosford Street, it's just a short walk from the city center. The moment you step in, you're hit with an eclectic, creative vibe. With independent art studios, live shows, and a whole mix of cafés, bars, and restaurants, it's the perfect spot if you want to experience the local lifestyle💡.
Hotel Recommendation: Britannia Hotel Coventry
I stayed a night at the Britannia Hotel Coventry. The spacious room with its blue and white decor was super cozy! The bed was really soft, there were plenty of TV channels, and the Wi-Fi was rock solid. The best part? It's right by Coventry High Street and tons of city attractions, making it incredibly convenient to head back to the hotel after walking your legs off👍. The bathroom was clean and practical—definitely worth another stay!
Food Recommendation
Looking to grab a bite after exploring? The kebabs at Coventry Kebab House (Address: 8 New Union St, Coventry CV1 2HN) are incredibly flavorful and offer amazing bang for your buck. The best part is that they have seating inside. But if you're looking for a sit-down meal to take your time, there are plenty of other restaurants nearby—just go with whatever strikes your fancy🍔.
Street Views
Coventry is super photogenic during the day, offering a fantastic mix of colorful architecture, ranging from modern designs to classic Western styles as you wander around. Whether it's a sunny day or a bit overcast, the aesthetic is always on point. It's a great destination whether you're into photography or just looking for a leisurely stroll📸~
Whether you're an artsy hipster or just looking for some great photo ops, Coventry City Centre and FarGo Village are definitely worth exploring at your own pace. There are so many hidden gems waiting for you to discover🥰
