I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would not hesitate to book again if we ever return to Lisbon. It is located in a charming area within walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops, and a supermarket, with the Parliament building just a short stroll away. The incredibly friendly staff welcomed us with refreshments during the brief check-in process, offering helpful advice on local attractions and day trips. Overall, the staff are a true asset to the hotel. The hotel itself was impeccably clean and well-maintained, and our room was spacious and comfortable. It was front-facing with a small balcony overlooking the street. Complimentary toiletries, a small fridge, an easy-to-use safe, ample wardrobe space, and a hairdryer were provided. Wifi was strong and consistent, and the TV featured several free channels. Plenty of outlets were available for charging devices. Additionally, housekeeping tidied up the room daily. Breakfast was served between 8 am and 10 am, offering plentiful and fresh options. Guests could choose to dine indoors or in a shaded courtyard outside. The area was consistently clean and orderly. A tram stopped right outside the hotel every 15 minutes from 7 am to midnight, making it extremely convenient for exploring the surroundings and capturing some great photos. What truly stood out was the hotel’s suggestion of arranging a car pickup from and back to the airport, ensuring we reached the hotel effortlessly without getting lost. Our friendly driver came highly recommended. I wholeheartedly give this hotel 5 stars and would gladly return in the future.

It’s one of those cities where you don’t need to rush between attractions — the charm is in wandering through tiled streets, catching viewpoints, stopping for coffee, and letting the city unfold. ☀️ Day 1 — Explore Lisbon City (Chiado • Baixa • Alfama) Start the morning in Chiado with coffee and pastries before walking downhill into Baixa’s grand squares and streets. Then slowly make your way towards Alfama — Lisbon’s oldest neighbourhood and my favourite part of the city. Must-do: ✨ Hop between the miradouros (viewpoints) — every one gives a different angle of Lisbon’s red rooftops and the Tagus River ☕ Stop at cafés instead of rushing attractions 🚶 Get lost in the narrow streets of Alfama (this was honestly the best part) Save your energy for sunset — Lisbon glows differently in the evening. 🌊 Day 2 — The Perfect Day Trip from Lisbon If you only have one extra day, this route is worth it: 📍 Sintra — colourful palaces and fairytale vibes 📍 Cabo da Roca — standing at the westernmost point of continental Europe 📍 Cascais — seaside town energy and a slower pace 📍 Belém — end the day back in Lisbon with pastries and riverside views It’s a packed day but gives you a little of everything: history, coastlines, viewpoints and city life. 48 hours wasn’t enough for Lisbon — but it was enough to make me want to come back. ✨ Save this itinerary for your Lisbon trip.

Quinta da Regaleira in the town of Sintra near Lisbon, although not a royal creation, I think it's even more worth visiting than Pena Palace. · I recommend grabbing a map as soon as you enter❗️ (Don't ask how I know) You can visit the Initiation Well first, then explore other attractions downhill. This well is 27 meters deep, with a spiral staircase winding around the walls, totaling 9 levels, giving off a very mysterious vibe. · ✨ Descend the 27-meter spiral staircase into the well The 9-level spiral stairs feel like a secret passage to the center of the earth Each level gives a sense of time travel Opening the stone door at the well’s mouth instantly feels like stepping into the magical world of Harry Potter! This Hieronymites Monastery (in Portuguese Mosteiro dos Jerónimos) is one of the most beautiful landmarks in Lisbon. The adjoining church, as well as the Belém Tower (just a few hundred meters away along the Tagus River), are simply magnificent and outstanding examples of Portugal’s golden age, in the Manueline style. Not to be missed under any circumstances! Be sure to book tickets in advance. While crowds can be significant, the beauty of the cloister is absolutely magical!

🔹The Miradouro de Santa Luzia is an excellent spot to watch the sunset in Lisbon. Although we didn’t catch the sunset this time, the view of the old town’s red-tiled roofs and the blue Tagus River was already beautiful enough🌅. 🔹After leaving the viewpoint, take a leisurely walk through the Alfama old town. This is one of Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods, situated on a hill⛰️ overlooking the Tagus River🌊. 🔹Lisbon’s old town has a magical way of making time stand still. The narrow streets are filled with colorful old houses🏠, traditional tile decorations, grocery stores, and small taverns🍺, still rich with the atmosphere of the Age of Discovery. 🔹At the corners of the layered old houses, you might unexpectedly stumble into a vintage shop, instantly feeling like you’ve stepped into a mysterious and slightly eerie medieval world. In Carmo Convent, absence is not emptiness — it is architecture rewritten by time. There is no roof here. Only the sky, resting directly on stone. Once a Gothic convent, the structure was torn open by the earthquake of 1755, leaving behind a skeletal nave of arches and columns that no longer enclose space, but frame it. What collapsed did not disappear — it transformed into permanence of another kind. Now, light enters without resistance. It passes through broken vaults and traces the outlines of what used to be enclosure. Dust drifts slowly in the beams, turning sunlight into something visible and almost tactile, as if time itself has become suspended in the air. The pointed arches still rise with intention, but their purpose has changed. They no longer protect. They reveal. From the stone floor, the sky feels closer than expected — not distant above, but integrated into the ruins, completing them rather than opposing them. Every fragment of wall becomes a reminder that what once was whole does not need to be restored to remain powerful. The Carmo Convent does not hide its fracture. It displays it. And in doing so, it turns destruction into a kind of quiet continuity — where history is not repaired, but allowed to remain open. Next to the ruins, the city moves with its usual rhythm. Modern 4-star hotel located right in the heart of the city. Very close to the Santa Justa Elevator, Commerce Square, and Rossio Square. The staff is very attentive and professional. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Breakfast is average. On the ground floor, there’s a nice restaurant with good reviews. It’s the perfect hotel if you want to explore the center of Lisbon. It is fun, easy, and a great way to discover hidden corners of the city. The famous Tram 28 is another must-do experience. The old yellow tram passes through beautiful neighborhoods like Graça and Alfama, giving you some of the best views in Lisbon. Because Lisbon is popular with tourists, pickpocketing can happen in busy places, especially on Tram 28 and in crowded streets. Keeping your bag close and staying aware is usually enough to avoid problems. Getting around the city is very easy because Uber is surprisingly cheap compared to many other European cities. Short rides cost very little and are perfect after a long day of walking up Lisbon’s hills. One surprising thing about Lisbon is the amount of amazing Asian food. You can find excellent ramen, sushi, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and Japanese restaurants all across the city. The seafood in Lisbon is absolutely delicious. Fresh grilled fish, sardines, octopus, and famous codfish dishes are served everywhere. The food is simple, fresh, and full of flavor. No visit to Lisbon is complete without trying the famous Pastel de Nata. The crispy pastry and creamy filling make it unforgettable, especially when eaten warm with coffee. Another local experience is trying Ginjinha, the sweet cherry liqueur loved by locals. Small ginja bars around the city are always full of people enjoying a quick drink and conversation. The beautiful Belém Tower is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. Sitting beside the river, it reminds visitors of Portugal’s history of exploration and discovery.
