I had never thought of a trip to Mongolia in that way before. It seemed a bit uncomfortable and inconvenient at first, but my initial impression upon arriving in Mongolia was surprisingly positive and pleasant. The cool air, cars cutting through the vast land, the sounds of nature rather than the noise of the city, the sky painted with shades of blue and the hues of the setting sun, and the starlight visible when all the lights go out—now I understand why people talk about Mongolia and its natural beauty. Without realizing it, I had built up layers of preconceived notions. The crisp autumn air, people bustling about from early dawn, and the quiet hours when city noise doesn't intrude. On clear days, the deep navy sky at dawn and the magical tones of the sunrise make me want to wake up early, gaze at the sky, and take photos. Perhaps that's why I also enjoy watching sunsets. Sometimes, I wondered about the desert described in 'The Little Prince.' Since I had never thought much about traveling to Mongolia, I didn't have high expectations for the mini desert included in the itinerary. When we arrived at the mini desert, it started to rain. Even though it was just a mini desert, the rain made me feel a bit disappointed and regretful. But I decided to trust the weather a little more. Gradually, the dark clouds that had been covering us drifted far beyond the horizon, and the small excitement of seeing clear weather grew uncontrollably. Our road trip through Mongolia lasted 8 days, starting on May 1st with crossing the border at the village of Khankh. It is one of the most significant cultural and historical sites in Mongolia. Then we stayed overnight in Tsagaan Suvarga, a place known for its unique natural formations, vibrant colors, and unusual rock shapes. Our dream was to climb the Khongoryn Els sand dunes and watch the sunrise there. The dunes are massive sand formations, one of Mongolia's most famous natural attractions. These dunes reach heights of up to 800 meters and stretch for tens of kilometers, creating a stunning landscape. The shifting sands produce an incredible sound, indescribable, as if the Gobi itself is singing. Unfortunately, we couldn't witness the sunrise; it came along with a sandstorm. Also, be sure to visit the Bayanzag Canyon, known as the "Flaming Cliffs." It truly looks like it's ablaze under the sunset. And of course, take a stroll through Ulaanbaatar, enjoy the local cuisine, see the dinosaurs, and the statue of Genghis Khan. The journey was unforgettable.
