Hidden gem in Brittany with medieval vibe
Locronan is an absolute underrated gem in Bretagne, France, with major medieval aesthetic goals! When I say this town takes you straight back to the good ol' days, I mean it—think stone houses, narrow cobblestone streets, and a church smack in the middle of the city. No modern buildings in sight, so it feels like a legit time warp! 😍⏳
You can totally vibe with the historic atmosphere here. The weather was kinda moody and overcast when I visited, which just made the place feel even more mysterious and super cool. Seriously, Locronan slays with those medieval feels!
If you love cute shops, this place is sooo good! There are tiny boutiques everywhere selling everything from local chocolate 🍫 to traditional alcohol. Don’t skip on grabbing some French cuisine at one of the little restaurants or cafés, either—it’s basically foodie heaven. Just a heads-up: most restaurants here operate on French time, meaning they're usually closed outside lunch and dinner hours. Plan your snack stops, fam!
Locronan Address: Place de l'Église, 29180 Locronan, France
Opening Hours: Most shops and restaurants open from around 10:00–19:00, with a break between lunch (12:00–14:00) and dinner (17:00–22:00).

Quiet Charms of Quimperlé | Daylight Stillness to Golden Dusk
#holidayitinerary
Quimperlé is a small, tranquil town in Brittany that whispers rather than shouts. When I visited, the main cathedral was closed, and the streets were nearly empty — just the occasional passerby and the soft rustling of leaves. Yet there was something deeply peaceful about the quietude, as if time itself had slowed. As the day faded into dusk, the golden light cast a warm glow over the old stone buildings, making the empty town feel like a living postcard. It may not be bustling, but Quimperlé’s stillness is its own kind of beauty.

An oasis in the city
The le Jardin de la retraite was just the perfect stop we needed. Especially to shelter from the heat. While walking around and exploring the city of quimper, should you want to relax for a while. This will be a great stop. You are not going to have too far out.
The location is right in the city but by a river. It's got very well maintained garden with tropical plans. I liked the benches in the park. Very relaxing to have found one in the shade. Now what was not so relaxing is the scum called youth or students to be more specific. Much worse, french it seemed, smoking and playing music on the phone. Truly a moment of Vivelafrance!

Spectacular Gothic Cathedral
Such a joy to experience a beauty like the cathedral of st. corentin in Quimper. Excellent example of the Breton gothic architecture. On of the most beautiful monuments in all of Brittany. The stained glass windows are a captivating sight. Never fails to draw your attention.
While the art and interiors are old dated to 19th century, the huilding has a change in the nave direction. There is informational given about it's construction through the interactive screen placed outside. If and when in quimper, I would highly recommend making a stop here.
