Aichi's hidden gem for cherry blossoms 🌸 The banks of the Seto River. This is a popular spot among locals where Yoshino cherry trees bloom beautifully along the river. When I visited on the last weekend of March, the blossoms were about 70% in bloom, so they will likely reach full bloom and be at their peak this week. It's a popular spot for photography, with people taking pictures for kindergarten entrance ceremonies. It's about a 15-minute walk from Setoshi Station. The day before heading to Ghibli Park, I stayed at Hotel Route-Inn Owari Seto Ekimae, which is just a short walk from Meitetsu Seto Line's Owari Seto Station. The hotel is located right in front of the station, making it easy to find even for first-time visitors. The Lucky Cat Museum is located on the second floor, while the first floor houses a small cafe. The cafe mainly serves wagashi (Japanese sweets), coffee, and tea. To access the second floor, you’ll need to pay an admission fee. Although the second floor is quite small 🤨, it’s packed with a vast collection of lucky cats. If you take your time to examine each one, you could easily spend two hours there 😍. Additionally, the museum provides information about lucky cat shrines from all over Japan. The first parking lot and the roadside were full, so we parked our car in the second parking lot, a little further away, and set off🚶‍♂️ There are toilets and rest areas on the way to the summit, so we took breaks as we went. We reached the summit in about 2.5 hours.
