Amersfoort - my favorite Dutch city!

Amersfoort, a small city in the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands, has a population of around 100,000. It's quite similar to the capital, with canals, though they are not as wide here. The roads here are also narrow, still retaining some medieval cobblestone streets that only very small cars can barely pass through, which is why there are so many bicycles, and the locals love cycling. Look at these houses; it's said to be a city, but it feels more like a rather large community. There are no very tall buildings, whether residential or office, all are no more than five stories, and that includes the steeply pitched roofs. Each cluster has a different style, with the bolder colors being offices and shops, and the softer, warmer colors naturally indicating residential use. Here, you don't see people rushing around; everyone lives at a slower pace, which is the atmosphere created by the streets and architecture.
