The Naxi people are adept at singing and dancing

A group of us went to the Black Dragon Pool Park in Lijiang for a visit and happened to encounter local Naxi artists performing their songs and dances. We were fortunate to witness the entire performance. The Naxi are one of the 56 ethnic groups in China and one of the unique ethnicities in Yunnan, with the majority residing in Lijiang City in northwestern Yunnan. The Naxi are world-renowned for their singing and dancing abilities. Many of their traditional classical music and dances are preserved in the Dongba religion and are considered living fossils of rare, well-preserved primitive music and dance in the world.
