Up Close to Mt Fuji at Sunset

Can you say that you’ve been to Japan without visiting Mt Fuji? No way! And that was exactly what we did during our short road trip around the Fujikawaguchiko region. It was pretty cloudy the entire day and close to sundown so we were giving up hope on seeing the majestic Mt Fuji. We were just driving down Lake Kawaguchi thinking of where to go for dinner but the weather cleared up so we quickly decided to head to the nearest park to hopefully catch a glimpse of the mountain. And fortunately we did! The view of Mt Fuji was perfect, we could see as far up as the peak. Coupled with the sunset, it was so incredible that I was touched to tears. This was easily one of my most memorable travel moments in 2022. If anyone is thinking of doing a self drive trip around the region, I highly reccomend it. My travel wish for 2023 is to have a chance to do another road trip to the same region and to see Mt Fuji in its full glory again. #2023travelwish
