[Kumamoto] A trip to Aso, where you can be healed by nature
Posted 30 days ago, helping 58 travelers with their trips

Kumamoto is home to Kurokawa Onsen and Aso Mountains, and there's plenty to see! Aso, with its vast natural scenery, felt like I was overseas! ○Milk Road, Daikanbo Aso is a city nestled in a caldera surrounded by a large outer rim. Within that rim, there's a road called Milk Road, surrounded by grass on both sides. Along the way, there's Daikanbo, a sort of observation deck. The view from Milk Road is like something out of a foreign country! Cows graze here and there, leisurely grazing. If you're driving by rental car, this is a must-see! Daikanbo also has souvenirs and other fun items, which was a delight. The soft-serve ice cream there was also delicious! Also, with no lights around, it's a great place to watch the stars. This time, I went to Kusasenri to watch the stars, but the emergency lights at restaurants and other establishments were too bright, making it difficult to see. ○ Kusasenri At Kusasenri, located on the outer rim of the crater rim opposite Daikanbo, the lakeside spreads out, again reminiscent of a foreign land! It felt like I was in Heidi's world. It was cloudy that day, but it was still beautiful! You can stroll freely to the restaurant and even ride horses. I'd love to return on a sunny day! There were plenty of souvenir shops, restaurants, stylish cafes, and street stalls, so it was a lot of fun. ⭐︎Because it was Golden Week, I had to wait quite a while for a parking spot when I arrived in the evening. During peak seasons, it's best to go early in the morning. ○ Akaushi (Red Beef) Yakiniku (Grilled Meat) Since I was in Kumamoto, I wanted to try the famous Akaushi (Red Beef), so I went for yakiniku. I went to [Akaushi Specialty Farm Restaurant Takoyama], which was close to my lodging. Each slice was huge, like a steak! It melted in my mouth. #MilkRoad #Daikanbo #Kusasenri #Akaushi #Kumamoto #MyTravel
