Apart from exploring the city center of Kumamoto, there's a slightly remote spot you shouldn't miss. #Aso Volcano is a famous tourist attraction in Kyushu and is also an active volcano. 🚊 From Kumamoto Station, take the JR to Higo-Ozu, then transfer to Aso Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. As soon as you exit Aso Station, on the right-hand side is the 'Sanko Bus Aso Office,' easily recognizable by the three Kumamon bears sitting at the station. You need to buy a ticket from the automatic ticket machine here. The price for a one-day pass on the 'Aso Crater Line' is JPY 2000 per person, taking bus number 8. 🚍 After getting off at the final stop on Mount Aso, you need to transfer to a shuttle bus (one-way JPY 700).
