Ougidani Observatory, located near the famous Daikanbo in the Aso region of Kumamoto Prefecture, is a unique spot that opens only on weekends, holidays, and sunny days. This observatory is situated on private land owned by the kitchen car "AsoBo-Kyo," and is accessible to the public only when the kitchen car is open. It has become a sacred place for riders visiting Aso. The highlight of this observatory is the breathtaking "Snake Road," a winding path that resembles a dragon or snake ascending to the heavens. This spot has gained attention as the "second Laputa Road." Notably, this view cannot be seen from Daikanbo. From the observatory, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Daikanbo, the Five Peaks of Aso, and Aso City. Admission is free!
