I arrived at Kusasenri and the Aso Volcano Museum just around noon. The weather started improving in the afternoon, and the blue sky became visible. It seems like visiting in the afternoon is the best choice. When the sky clears up, the scenery of Kusasenri becomes even more stunning, with the vast land stretching endlessly—it was absolutely breathtaking! The scale is much larger than it appears in photos, and I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow!" I also got a view of the Aso volcanic crater. Seeing it in person made me understand why entry is prohibited—it’s incredibly powerful and awe-inspiring. The sheer force of nature felt a bit chilling, but it was also deeply moving and truly representative of Aso. The roads were mostly clear of snow by noon as the sun melted it away. Visiting around midday seems to be the best option. The moment the sun came out, the colors of the scenery changed, and despite being in winter, Aso felt bright and refreshing, leaving a lasting impression. This time, I traveled by train and bus, which took up the whole day at Mount Aso. Spending a leisurely day at Mount Aso is definitely the best way to enjoy it. The journey itself, including the transportation, felt like an adventure, which was also fun! If you allow yourself plenty of time, you can savor the luxury of simply gazing at the scenery and soaking in the moment.
