Greece Trip Day 5 On May 31, 2024, at 13:30 Greek time, the 'Panoramic Tour of Greece' group finished watching the changing of the guard ceremony at the Parliament House. Under the leadership of team leader Wang Ning and local guide Qi Wei, they arrived at the third site of the day: visiting the Academy of Sciences, the University of Athens, and the National Library, which are three major neoclassical buildings. The Academy of Athens is the most beautiful among the three ancient buildings, imitating the Erechtheion temple on the Acropolis. The main building consists of three temple-style halls. At the front of the Academy of Athens, statues of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Apollo, the god of light and art, stand on the stone columns; in the center of the pediment is Zeus, the god of all gods. On the left and right sides in front of the building stand statues of the ancient philosophers Plato and Socrates, exuding a sense of solemnity and wisdom. The Greek flag on the roof flutters in the wind against the blue sky. The University of Athens is the oldest school and the most influential university in the Balkan Peninsula, and it is also the earliest of the three buildings. It is the birthplace of Greece's oldest and greatest philosophers and thinkers, and the outer walls are adorned with representatives from various scientific fields. The National Library of Greece, built in 1888, is made of marble. Its grand colonnade and temple-like main building, approached by semi-circular steps on both sides, appear solemn and majestic.
