In the Wauchau Valley, there is a small town called Spitz with a population of only over 2,000 people. Spitz is nestled among mountains and waters, with beautiful scenery and vast grape terraces bearing abundant fruits. The hills are known as the "Thousand Barrel Mountain", meaning that it brings thousands of barrels of top-quality wine to the winemakers every year. This place produces white wine exclusively for the Austrian people and does not export it. 800 years ago, it was a monastery. In addition to white wine, there are also apricot liqueur, jam, and chocolate with apricot meat. Not far from Schipitz is the town of Dürnstein. The blue and white clock tower is the famous landmark of the Augustinian Monastery, also known as the Blue Church. It is said that painting the church blue can bring one closer to God. We sat in the church and listened to an organ concert in silence. Although the music was not as powerful and shocking as that of a grand cathedral, it still provided a spiritual comfort to people.
