Take the MRT to Wat Phra Kaew.

Start by taking the MRT subway and get off at Sanam Chai Station. Exit at Exit 1 in front of the Museum Siam. Then walk along Sanam Chai Road, past the wall of Wat Pho, cross the road and walk along the wall of Wat Phra Kaew until you reach the entrance gate. The walk takes about 10 minutes. The Grand Palace is a royal residence built during the reign of King Rama I in 1782. When he established the new capital in a suitable location on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, which is Bangkok, he ordered the construction of Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram and established it as a royal temple within the Grand Palace.
