Nanshan District Three-Day Two-Night Hea Stay and Play

2023 has already seen visits to Nanshan and Bao'an districts, where last time I only spent one night touring Nantou Ancient City and missed some shops and museums. Therefore, this time I revisited Nantou Ancient City, spending an afternoon and evening exploring the old town. Firstly, last time I stayed at a chain hotel: Ibis. This time, I chose a service apartment called Mei Qiu M, which I personally prefer over Ibis in terms of cleanliness, space, comfort, and convenience. (Photos 1-8) On the first day, we arrived at the hotel after 4 pm, so we only went to a nearby supermarket to buy some supplies: water, drinks, and ready-to-eat snacks for late-night munching. We chose to go to Rainbow Supermarket (Zhenye·Xinghai Store), which was about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. Dinner on the first night was a bunch of food we bought and took back to the hotel to eat. (Photo 9) The next morning, we bought rice noodle rolls near the hotel and ordered Luckin Coffee, leisurely heading to Qingyu Garden Hotel to check out the environment. This hotel seemed economical with meals included when viewed online, but upon actual visit, it was not very convenient. It was a 5-minute walk from the subway exit, and there were no facilities nearby. It felt more like a holiday house/hotel on a remote island in Hong Kong, where you would just stay in and rest. In the afternoon, we returned to Nantou Ancient City, had some snacks (seaweed rice rolls - a pleasant surprise), planned life over coffee, took quirky photos, played with small animals, and had Thai food for dinner, which wasn't very tasty so I won't share that. Because we arrived at Nantou Ancient City earlier this time, we saw more small animals. They were all very friendly, and the shop owners were happy to let their pets interact with customers, which felt very friendly and civilized. 👍🏻👍🏻 After dinner, we passed by Hema on the way back to the hotel and bought some souvenirs to take back to Hong Kong the next afternoon.
