Tianshan Brocade - Bayinbuluke Prairie

The Bayinbuluke Scenic Area is located in the northwest of Hejing County, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, situated in the belly of the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains. The scenic area is a natural landscape tourist area with alpine meadow grassland and cold swamp wetland ecosystems in the high-altitude large mountain basin of the Tianshan Mountains, and the river bends and swamp wetlands in the upper reaches of the Kaidu River as the main body. The Bayinbuluke Prairie is 363 kilometers away from Kuerle City, with a length of 270 kilometers from east to west, a width of 136 kilometers from north to south, a total area of 23,835 square kilometers, and a usable grassland area of 20,519 square kilometers. The average altitude is between 1,500 and 2,500 meters, making it the second largest prairie in China, second only to the Hulunbuir Prairie in Inner Mongolia. The Bayinbuluke Prairie is flat with abundant water and grass. It is a typical grass meadow prairie and one of the most important livestock bases in Xinjiang. It is a natural scenic area that combines mountains, basins, and grasslands. The Bayinbuluke Prairie, due to its minimal human impact, has preserved a variety of rare species in the world, making it an ideal breeding and habitat for wild animals such as swans. According to preliminary statistics, the Bayinbuluke Scenic Area has a total of 704 species of wild vascular plants in 62 families and 254 genera. In October 2010, the Bayinbuluke Scenic Area passed the national AAAA-level tourist area acceptance. In October 2016, Bayinbuluke was established as a national AAAAA-level tourist area.
