Old Summer Palace - lotus, lotus, lotus 🪷

Yuanmingyuan (Old Summer Palace) is a huge tranquil complex, previously only accessible to the royal family, with miles of picturesque lotus flowers and surreal relic left behind by its tragic history by the hands of foreign invaders. I spent a good 4 hours in the park but was only able to cover half the place. If you go in groups, you can ride some of the cycles or mini bus around. If you are not in a hurry you can easily spend the whole day there, if you like walking in nature. Or just go to the ruins area at the north end of the lotus 🪷 area.
