The following year, the era name was changed to Yongzheng (1723) ·In the 13th year of Yongzheng (1735), Yongzheng Emperor passed away and passed the throne to his fourth son, Hongli. The following year, the era name was changed to Qianlong (1736) ·In the 9th year of Qianlong (1744), it was rebuilt as a royal temple of Tibetan Buddhism. Qianlong wrote in the 'Yonghe Palace Stele': Yonghe Palace is the blessed place where the previous emperor lived before he ascended the throne, and it is also the place where I was born, grew up, and inherited the empire. For nearly 300 years, the morning bells and evening drums have echoed leisurely. Yonghe Palace has witnessed the historical changes of the Chinese land, maintained the peace and unity of the Chinese nation, and played a role in inheriting the Dharma, converting all beings, and solemnizing the national territory. It has now become the most important Buddhist holy place outside Tibet, welcoming believers from all directions to worship, study, and pray for blessings.
