An Encounter with the Tranquil Fame Pavilion Garden at Dusk

🌅🏞 The sun sets in the west, entering from the south gate of Taoranting Park by the Second Ring Road, heading towards the north gate. 🌆🌌 🏰🌳 Taoranting Park, established in 1952, is one of the earliest modern gardens in Beijing, known as a 'Capital's Scenic Spot', and is now a 4A-level tourist attraction. 🌳🌆 🏞🏯 Among the four famous pavilions in China, Taoranting stands with Chuzhou's Zuiweng Pavilion, Hangzhou's Lake Heart Pavilion, and Changsha's Aiwan Pavilion. 🏯🌅 🌳🌈 In the 34th year of Emperor Kangxi's reign during the Qing Dynasty, Jiang Zao, a Langzhong of the Ministry of Works, was ordered to supervise the Heikeng Factory. He constructed a small pavilion to the west of Cibei An, which is the Taoranting Pavilion. 🌈🏞 🌇🌳 The name 'Taoranting' comes from the words 'tao ran' in Bai Juyi's poem, which means 'carefree and joyful'. After more than three hundred years, it has become a famous scene in the capital. 🌳🌆 🏯🏞 The Cibei An, where Taoranting is located, is also a Yuan Dynasty relic, preserving cultural relics from the Yuan and Liao periods, and has become an important site for revolutionary pioneers in modern times. 🏞🌄 🌅🌲 However, Taoranting Park is not only about historical relics; the Huaxia Famous Pavilion Garden on the west side of the park is also a must-visit place for me every time. 🌲🌇 🏞🌼 The Huaxia Famous Pavilion Garden was built in 1985, replicating more than a dozen famous historical pavilions from all over the country, all copied at a 1:1 scale. 🌼🌅 🌳🌺 I remember when the garden was first built, there was a separate entrance fee of fifty cents, but thinking that one could tour famous pavilions from all over the country in one garden, the price felt very worthwhile. 🌺🌳 🌄🌸 Now, this 'garden within a garden' is completely free to enter, and I personally think it is the most beautiful spot in Taoranting Park. 🌸🌄 🌆🌼 When I arrived today, it was already dusk. Most visitors had left, and nearby residents who like to stroll here were hurrying home for dinner, so the park was very quiet at this time. 🌼🌇 🌳🌈 Wandering through the Famous Pavilion Garden, admiring each pavilion in turn, each pavilion stands as a separate scene, separated by bamboo groves, rockeries, streams, and lawns, yet connected by secluded paths, forming a linked chain of scenery. 🌈🌳 🌲🌄 My personal favorites include Zuiweng Pavilion, which is also one of the four famous pavilions, the Duxing Pavilion built in the deep forest, the Jinyue Pavilion and Baipo Pavilion across the lake, the Lanting Pavilion by the goose pond, and the Chuitai Pavilion whose reflection is mirrored in the lake. 🌄🌲 🌸🌅 Taking a short rest in each pavilion, with almost no one around, the tranquility is profound, with the serene ponds and green trees allowing one's mood to completely relax, almost reaching a state of self-forgetfulness. 🌅🌸 🌳🌄 Near the Jinyue Pavilion by the lake, I encountered an elderly man playing soothing music on a wooden guitar. The melodious tunes flowing from his fingers, played in the tranquil garden under the slanting sunset, sounded almost heavenly. 🌄🌳 🌈🌳 On the other side of the lake, hidden among the trees, was a lazy cluster of cats, with the big cat guarding the newly born kittens, a scene that was heartwarming and deeply comforting. 🌳🌈
