Beijing | Yongdingmen Park

Yongdingmen Park is located in Dongcheng District, Beijing, and was established in 2004 as an open strip park. It starts from the north at Nanwei Road and extends south to Yongdingmen, situated between the Temple of Heaven and the Altar of Agriculture, belonging to an important historical and cultural district of Beijing, covering an area of 28.5 hectares, with a length of 1000 meters from north to south. Yongdingmen Gate Tower is the symbol and starting point of the central axis greenway's southern line, and the park is named after it. The park has a simple and natural overall style, with a straightforward and generous design. Combined with the reconstruction of Yongdingmen Gate Tower and the protection of cultural relics, the imperial road of the central axis was constructed, and the 'Yousheng Temple' and 'Guanyin Temple' were rebuilt on the original site of the green space. After completion, the southern central axis green space respects and continues the historical context, protects and reproduces the ancient capital's appearance, forming a cultural tourism district with a strong Beijing character. The park is a comprehensive place integrating culture, leisure, and entertainment, where people can fly kites, roller skate, admire the Yongdingmen Gate Tower, and experience the historical and cultural atmosphere of Beijing.
