Although not a bustling market in the past, it was once a thriving hutong

"Dazhiqiao Hutong" is located outside Xuanwumen of Beijing, starting from Xuanwumen Outer Street in the east and extending to Jinjing Hutong in the west. The alley is 200 meters long and about four meters wide, just a small lane. The name "Dazhiqiao" was refined from the historical "Tartar Bridge". This hutong once had its prosperous times, with the "Yishengju Restaurant" at the intersection, where carriages and horses were bustling, and it was a gathering place for officials and scholars. No. 12 and 14 of the hutong are "Songjun An", the former residence of Yang Jisheng (Jiaoshan), a loyal and righteous man of the Ming Dynasty, and No. 55 was originally the "Chaoqing Temple" of the Ming Dynasty. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, the "Songshan Caotang" was built, which was also the residence of Yuan Shikai.
