Citywalk Morning Light at the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing

In the early morning, people jogging or walking briskly around the National Centre for the Performing Arts greet the sunrise, unafraid of the sun's rays, while admiring the beautiful exterior of the theatre. The exterior of the theatre is semi-elliptical. Elderly women say it looks like half an eggshell placed in water, while young people say it has an extraterrestrial visual effect. This great Chinese performing arts hall, adjacent to Beijing's Forbidden City, took nearly ten years to build and open. The exterior of the building is composed of more than 18,000 titanium panels and over 1,200 ultra-clear glass panels, creating a beautiful curve that evokes the scene of a stage curtain slowly opening. The architectural style is unique, presenting different scenes under various weather conditions and times of day, or when the colorful lights are on. The theatre is the masterpiece of internationally renowned architect Paul Andreu, and it has won the Luban Prize. The interior of the National Centre for the Performing Arts is lifelike, showcasing unique lines, light and shadow, and spatial beauty everywhere, like a musical chapter, making it very suitable for photography. There are large exhibitions, Western restaurants, and more on the upper floors. The theatre is open to the public for visits. The entrance to the theatre is directly accessible from Exit C of Tiananmen West Station on Metro Line 1.
