Yonghe Temple is located at No. 28, Yonghegong Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was originally the residence of Emperor Shizong of the Qing Dynasty, Yin Zhen, when he was a prince. It was also the birthplace and place of growth of Emperor Gaozong of the Qing Dynasty, Hongli. It was the residence of the emperors of the Yong and Qian dynasties. It was the center of the Qing government's control of Tibetan Buddhism affairs and the highest-ranking Buddhist temple in the middle and late Qing Dynasty.
