🌿 The Tian Ning Temple Pagoda is not as famous as other ancient sites in Beijing, but it is actually the oldest existing ground building in Beijing, dating back 905 years, 300 years earlier than the Forbidden City 👏👏👏 It is located on the edge of the Second Ring Road and is definitely worth a visit. 🌈 Highlights 🌈 🌿 It was built in the ninth year of the Tianqing period of the Liao Dynasty (1119 AD). It is an octagonal thirteen-story solid brick pagoda with a dense eave style. It is a classic Liao pagoda building with a beautiful shape and proportion. It is a masterpiece of ancient Chinese pagoda architecture. 🌿 Tian Ning Temple was built in the Tang Dynasty and was originally named Tian Wang Temple. A stupa was built in the Liao Dynasty, named Da Liao Yanjing Tian Wang Temple Stupa. The temple was destroyed by war during the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, and only the stupa remained. 🌿 The actual height of the pagoda is 55.38 meters. It stands tall outside Guang'anmen in Xicheng District. It is magnificent and spectacular.
