China National Academy of Painting, Baita'an Pagoda

📍Address: No. 54, North West Third Ring Road, Beijing 🚗Transportation: Take Metro Line 6 to Huayuanqiao Station 👍️Must-see: Legend has it that the Jianwen Emperor of the Ming dynasty escaped from Nanjing during the Jingnan Campaign, became a monk, and came to Beijing in his later years. After his death, he was buried in the Western Hills, and a pagoda was built for him, which was mistakenly called the Jianwen Emperor's pagoda. The pagoda is 25 meters high and is a stupa. The base is a single-layer Sumeru pedestal, with six layers of carved lotus petals on top. There are niches (eye gates) on all four sides of the pagoda, and the thirteen heavens are built with circular stones. The pagoda is made of blue bricks, and the top is decorated with a two-ton copper canopy and vase. According to other visitors, there is a pagoda in the courtyard, and surprisingly, there are many sculptures. If you like them, you can take a closer look. 🎟️Tickets: No reservation required, just register
