The Qi Baishi Former Residence Memorial Hall is probably the house where Qi Baishi lived for the shortest time. Mr. Qi Baishi was a miracle in the Chinese painting world in the 20th century. From a carpenter in a remote mountain village, he went to Beijing alone and eventually became a great painter! What an inspiring story, a legend. Qi Baishi lived here in 1955, and it was opened to the public as a memorial hall on May 13, 2012. The courtyard faces south, with three rooms each on the south, north, west, and east sides, all with hard gable roofs. The north house has three east and west wing rooms, and the south house is connected to three rooms on the west side. The north house exhibits Qi Baishi's creative and resting rooms, with a statue of Qi Baishi in front of the courtyard, his workbench, a large heater, and his bedroom behind the statue. The east, west, south, and north houses have corridors, so you won't get wet when it rains. The west house displays Qi Baishi's works and text introductions. Qi Baishi loved painting shrimp, and his works evolved five times, from simple shrimp to not pursuing likeness, but achieving a similar effect by depicting the transparency and movement of long whiskers in water.
