A century-old store in Belgrade: Moskva Hotel.

Hotel Moskva is located in Belgrade’s Trazier Square and is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. The hotel was built in 1906 and opened in 1908. Designed by Russian architects Jovan Irkic and Nikola Nestorovich, it features unique Art Nouveau style and Serbian national patterns. It has hosted many famous figures, including Albert Einstein, Ivo Andric, Luciano Pavarotti and others. After World War II, the Moskva Hotel continued to operate under the new socialist regime. It was nationalized but remains a famous place for cultural and social events. In the 1990s, the hotel underwent extensive renovations. In 2005, it was privatized and rebuilt. Figure 8 shows Trazier Square. Picture 9-11 shows lunch at the hotel restaurant.
