Even at its low, Konigsee doesn’t disappoint!

#2024mapped Berchtesgaden has been among the top 3 must-go in almost every Germany travel itineraries. And I can’t disagree. Even on a day of bad weather/season, it radiates its charm. Of all, Konigsee is the most popular place to go in Berchtesgaden. It’s no doubt incredible, but never ever miss out Obersee, which by the pictures on the internet, is even more stunning, if it’s open during your visit (which is from summer to autumn). It’s not reachable by foot, so when lake is frozen in the winter, it’s becomes totally inaccessible. There’s supposed to be an ice chapel, an hour of hike away from St Bartholoma Church, but again in the winter, the entrance could be buried by snow, and it’s extremely dangerous to go near, unless you wanna risk trigger a snow avalanche and be buried (please, no). So the best season to come to Berchtesgaden should be after April and before December. That said, it still offered great views during my visit in the late winter/early Spring.
