Trip to Brno 🇨🇿

It was a short weekend trip to Brno, Czech Republic. Here are the spots we explored and highly recommend for an unforgettable trip. We started our day by visiting Špilberk Castle, an impressive fortress that sits atop a hill overlooking the city. As we walked through its historic halls and courtyards, we learned about its role as a former royal castle, prison, and military fortress. The views from the tower were stunning, and we took a moment to soak in the panorama of Brno. Don't miss the museum inside, which offers fascinating insights into the city's history. 📍Špilberk 1, 662 24 Brno, Czech Republic* After the castle, we explored Brno's Old Town, wandering through its narrow streets lined with colorful buildings and charming cafes. We made our way to the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, a Gothic masterpiece with twin spires that dominate the city's skyline. Inside, we admired the intricate stained glass windows and the serene atmosphere. I would recommend climbing the tower for an even more breathtaking view of the city. 📍 Petrov 9, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic For lunch, we headed to Stopkova Plzeňská Pivnice, a traditional Czech pub where we enjoyed hearty local dishes. I highly recommend trying their svíčková na smetaně (beef sirloin with creamy sauce) and a pint of Pilsner Urquell, freshly tapped 🍺 The portions were generous, and the atmosphere was lively, making it a great spot to experience authentic Czech cuisine 🙌🙌🙌 💰 CZK 150-300 📍 Česká 5, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic In the afternoon, we visited Villa Tugendhat, a UNESCO World Heritage site and an architectural marvel. This modernist villa, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, left us in awe with its minimalist design, open spaces, and innovative use of materials. The guided tour gave us a fascinating insight into the villa's history and its significance in modern architecture. Make sure to book your tickets in advance, as it’s a popular attraction. 📍 Černopolní 45, 613 00 Brno, Czech Republic After our villa visit, we took a relaxing stroll through Lužánky Park, Brno’s oldest public park. We found it to be a perfect spot to unwind, with its expansive green lawns, beautiful flowerbeds, and peaceful ponds. The park is great for a leisurely walk or simply sitting on a bench to enjoy the local vibe. 📍 Pionýrská, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic* For dinner, I would recommend Pavillon Restaurant, an elegant eatery offering a blend of Czech and international cuisine. We particularly enjoyed their duck breast with red cabbage and potato dumplings, paired with a local Moravian wine. The ambiance was sophisticated yet welcoming, and the service was excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💰 CZK 400-600 📍 Jezuitská 2, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic #weekendgetaways #vacation #trip
