SUMBING MOUNTAIN

Mount Sumbing is a volcano located in Central Java, Indonesia., Mount Sumbing is the third highest mountain on the island of Java after Mount Semeru and Mount Slamet. This mountain is administratively located in three districts, namely Magelang Regency; Temanggung Regency; and Wonosobo Regency. If mapped, Sumbing is in the southwest of Temanggung city and east of Wonosobo city. While Sindoro is northwest of Temanggung and northeast of Wonosobo. People in both areas refer to Sindoro-Sumbing as Twin Mountains. Both have enormous tourism potential, although not all of them can be managed optimally. In addition to beautiful natural scenery, with cool and fresh air, the potential for the development of the Sumbing-Sindoro agro-tourism area, especially longan, tobacco, vanilla, and coffee plantations. The natural conditions are almost the same as the Gunung Mas area, Puncak, Bogor. The mountain, which is full of legends about mate fidelity and epic epics, is no stranger to climbers. Many groups of nature lovers climb the peaks of Sumbing and Sindoro, especially on certain days which have become a tradition. With various advantages, the transportation and tourism office of the Temanggung district is trying to continue to explore tourism potentials, while fixing the supporting infrastructure in this area. The tourism sector, especially those based on mountain tourism, can be used as one of the leading prima donnas in building a populist economy in this area The tour to Mount Sumbing will pass through the tourist village of Tegalrejo which is also close to Vale Kambang fishing and the Gondosuli inscription. The land around the mountain is very outskirt, so that almost the entire sloping area up to an altitude of 2,000 m above sea level is used as smallholder plantations such as tobacco and vegetables. Cleft mountain climbing can be done at any time. But the peak of the crowd occurs at night blackjack. Thousands of climbers, guided by experienced nature lovers from the Sumbing Hiking Club (SHC) Temanggung, and monitored by integrated officers at the nearest post, started the ritual from the mountain pager village, Bulu sub-district. The climbers generally start from the village/sub-district of Kledung (northwest), or the villages of need and selogowok in the sub-district of Tlogo Mulyo (northeast).
