Changsha Yueli Academy - A Must-Visit for Literature Enthusiasts

Located on the eastern side of Yueli Mountain Scenic Area, Yueli Academy is one of the four great academies of ancient China. Although the current structure is a reconstruction from the late 1990s, visitors can still experience the scholarly atmosphere that dates back to its founding in the Song Dynasty. This traditional Chinese building covers an area of over 20,000 square meters and features a symmetrical layout along a central axis. The most captivating parts for tourists are the main gate, lecture hall, and student quarters. As you walk towards the Imperial Library and the Confucian Temple, you can deeply feel the solemnity and mystique of the academy, which also fully embodies the ancient ethical relationships and hierarchical culture. However, my favorite part is the outdoor garden. Unlike the luxurious and intricate gardens of government offices or the personalized gardens of private residences, the academy's garden feels like a place for scholars to discuss and relax, offering a very peaceful and serene environment.
