While looking for filming locations around Shanghai, I discovered this place—Changzhou Maoshan Oriental Salt Lake City! This is simply a paradise for xianxia fans! Highly recommended spots to check in: Xiquan Pavilion My favorite and the most xianxia-like spot, with lots and lots of flowers , paired with waterfalls, phoenixes, and fishtails, it’s a perfect scene from a xianxia drama. The area around Xiquan Pavilion is great for photos. Lantern Boardwalk Near Xiquan Pavilion, especially charming when the lights first come on in the evening. Shanhai Slope A large slope, walking here in xianxia or Hanfu attire feels particularly special. Near Chun Bamboo Courtyard Rows of lanterns and walls covered with climbing ivy. Daofeng Street An ancient-style street, perfect for candid shots. Salt Palace A red Chinese-style building with various wonderful performances at different times of the day. The light and shadow show at night is especially spectacular. Jianghu Feast (Xiaoyao Pavilion, where you can eat while watching performances) Night Light and Shadow Show · Light and Shadow Dao Xing (highly recommend Pear Blossom Wonderland and Xiquan Pavilion), don’t miss Kan Shui Fa and Kun Di Gu if you’re bringing kids, where they can play with water and drift , kids will love it. We stayed one night in the scenic area, where the homestay had evening craft activities and prepared mung bean soup for us. Staying in the scenic area includes two tickets to the scenic area.
