The Changzhou Planning Museum is located at 1288 Longcheng Avenue, Xinbei District, Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, to the west of the Civic Square, and is connected to the Changzhou Museum. The Planning Museum has a building area of over 9,000 square meters and an exhibition area of nearly 6,000 square meters. Changzhou is known as the "Dragon City". There are several theories as to why it is called the Dragon City. One theory is that Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty wrote the plaque "Dragon City Elephant Education" here. Another theory is that Changzhou is guarded by five dragons. Another theory is that six dragons guard the city. In any case, Changzhou has been related to dragons since ancient times. The city wall was built in the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty. Later, the "Luo City" was built, which was very similar to a turtle. The turtle is a legendary dragon species. Because the land is shaped like a dragon, it is named after it. This can be seen from the maps of Changzhou Prefecture in the 16th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty and the 34th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, especially the Changzhou map in the second year of the Republic of China. The first floor exhibition hall clearly displays the development history of Changzhou from the Spring and Autumn Period to the present day as a dragon city, allowing people to understand the long history of Changzhou, a national historical and cultural city.
