Elegant Life of Song People in Longteng Zhongwu

The Elegant Life of Song People in Longteng Zhongwu is exhibited on the second floor of Changzhou Museum, 1288 Longcheng Avenue, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. During the Southern Song Dynasty, the migration of northerners to the south, the development of the social economy, and the active circulation of goods profoundly changed the living conditions of people in the Changzhou area. This social change has been confirmed by archaeological excavations over the years. Archaeologists have unearthed a large number of burial artifacts in Changzhou Song tombs, including porcelain from famous kilns from all over the country, lacquerware from the famous lacquer town of Wenzhou, daily necessities and stationery with unique shapes and exquisite craftsmanship, and locally produced exquisite lacquerware and gorgeous silk. These exquisite artifacts not only reflect the prosperous commerce and trade and developed handicraft industry in Changzhou during the Song Dynasty, but also reflect the elegant and exquisite lifestyle of Changzhou people during the Song Dynasty.
