The history of the ancient Shu civilization, which has been severely underestimated

The Sichuan Museum is located in the Huanhuaxi Historical and Cultural Scenic Area of Chengdu, and it is the largest museum in the southwest. The museum has a collection of more than 350,000 cultural relics, including 70,000 precious items. Currently, the museum has 6 basic exhibition halls with a total area of 10,000 square meters. On the first floor, there is the 'Ancient Sichuan - Prehistoric Period', on the second floor, there are 'Ancient Sichuan - Pre-Qin Period', 'Ancient Sichuan - Qin, Han, and Three Kingdoms Period', 'Ancient Sichuan - Two Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties to Sui and Tang Dynasties' - four general history permanent exhibitions, as well as three art history themed permanent exhibitions on the third floor: ethnic cultural relics, arts and crafts, and Han Dynasty pottery and stone art. The Sichuan Museum has collected a large number of paintings by Mr. Zhang Daqian, especially his reproductions of the Dunhuang murals. Zhang Daqian reproduced more than 200 Dunhuang murals, and the Sichuan Museum has collected 183 of them. Unfortunately, the recent Zhang Daqian painting and calligraphy exhibition and the Tibetan Buddhist cultural relics exhibition have not been displayed to the public. Based on the current work arrangement and the enthusiasm of the audience, it is proposed to close the calligraphy and painting hall on June 12, 2023, and the Zhang Daqian Art Museum on July 3, 2023.). Here are some photos taken during my visit to the painting and calligraphy gallery in 2019. The museum's highlights include the Warring States period bronze dagger with a curved handle, the Plum Blossom and Double Birds painting, the Tang Dynasty porcelain figurine with a human head and chicken body, the Qing Wa Si Xuanwei Si bronze seal, the Green Tara Thangka saving from eight difficulties, the Jade Shou Bao, the Liang Dynasty four-year Sakyamuni Buddha niche, the Warring States and Western Zhou round coins, the Eastern Han acrobatic music and dance portrait brick, the Warring States period tiger-patterned bronze halberd, the Shao's food tripod, the bronze seal of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and more. The museum is located next to Huanhuaxi Park, adjacent to the Du Fu Thatched Cottage and the Shu Brocade Museum, with many attractions nearby such as Jinli, Wuhou Shrine, Kuanzhai Alley, Chengdu Museum, and Qingyang Palace. It is accessible by subway lines 5 and 2. Currently, the road in front of the museum is closed for construction, and the bus stop is temporarily suspended, so please pay attention to your travel method.
