Ancient Charm, Modern Search: A Poetic Journey at Du Fu Thatched Cottage

Chengdu Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of the great Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu in Chengdu. This place is not only Du Fu's home but also a treasure in the history of Chinese literature. Although it is called Yilan Pavilion, it looks more like a tower. The Grand Hall means the government office, with couplets hanging on both sides and a bronze statue of Du Fu. 👀Entering the main hall, in the center is a statue of Du Fu sculpted by Mr. Liu Kaiqu. This place is called the Poetry History Hall. 👀The Ministry of Works Shrine is named because Du Fu once served as a military advisor and a junior official in the Ministry of Works in Chengdu. Later generations honored him as 'Minister Du'. 👀The Thatched Cottage Scenic Area is a reconstructed residence of Du Fu. Based on Du Fu's descriptions of the thatched cottage in his poems, the reconstructed thatched cottage basically restores his living scene in Chengdu. 👀The Flower Path is the small road in front of Du Fu's house, lined with flowers and trees on both sides. He wrote in his poem, 'The flower path has never been swept for a guest, today the lotus gate opens for you.' Now it has become a popular check-in spot because of the red wall alley. 👀Daya Hall was originally the main hall of the Caotang Temple, later converted into a place to showcase Chinese poetry culture.
