Strolling through the city, one can discover the hidden gems of beauty, like a day trip to Chengjiang Fengshan Park

I enjoy traveling to different places Even more, I love finding those special, lesser-known spots And I always want to find my own personal favorites on each trip Today, I visited an off-the-beaten-path park For a change of pace To enjoy some leisure time 🌟 Highlights: Fengshan Park is located on Fengshan, north of Chengjiang county town, built during the Republic of China era. Its gate and the Zhizhou Tower within the park are both Republic of China architecture. Besides the Zhizhou Tower, there are also attractions like the phoenix sculpture and the tomb of General Luo Peijin. Upon entering the park, the first thing you see is a three-story pavilion called Zhizhou Tower, built in 1943 by Western Europeans. It was named after Long Yun, the chairman of Yunnan Province during the Republic of China era. This is one of the local ancient buildings with historical memory, not because it's very old, but because it's closely related to historical figures of Yunnan. At the top of Fengshan, there is a general's tomb, where General Luo Peibin is buried. On the tombstone, you can see four seal characters meaning 'Light of National Protection'. General Luo was from Chenjiang, Yunnan, graduated from the Yunnan Military Academy, participated in the anti-Qing government's Kunming Double Ninth Uprising in 1911, and in 1915, he joined the National Protection Movement against Yuan Shikai's claim to the throne. He made outstanding contributions to the movement. The stele on both sides of the tomb has inscriptions praising his virtues and achievements. In 1987, General Luo's tomb was moved to Fengshan. It is a cultural relic protection unit of Yuxi City. All these show the deep respect and remembrance for General Luo. The park also has many lush plants and a small lake with bighead carp. Squirrels and birds can be seen on the trees by the lake from time to time, presenting a picture of natural and harmonious beauty. 📍 Detailed address: 36 Huan Cheng North Road, Fenglu Sub-district, Chengjiang, Yuxi City It is recommended to drive there to find more unique and interesting places.
