Qingxi Pagoda

Qingxi Pagoda, also known as Miaoyin Pagoda, is located at the entrance of the old course of the Qingxi River in the Qingxi Group of Liupo Village, Chizhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is a seven-story octagonal pavilion-style brick pagoda without a base. It was built by Qian Lan, the prefect of Chizhou, in the 29th year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1601 AD), and was continued by the prefect Huang Liufang. It was completed by the prefect Jin Bengao in the 45th year of the Wanli period (1617 AD). Ding Shaoyi, a minister of the Ming Dynasty, wrote the "Qingxi Pagoda Stele Inscription". The pagoda is 55.7 meters high and has a circumference of 37.60 meters. Each floor has a Buddha and a wall box. The pagoda bricks are stamped with the names of the craftsmen, such as "Fu Pagoda Brick Liu Kezao" and "Fu Pagoda Brick Zhang Yuzao", which are convenient for accountability when quality problems occur. In September 1982, it was listed as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. In October 2019, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
