Chongqing, this city full of enthusiasm and charm, has many attractions that make people linger, and Ciqikou is one of its shining pearls. The moment I stepped into Ciqikou, a strong ancient atmosphere greeted me. The narrow and winding bluestone road bears the traces of time, as if telling stories of the past. On both sides of the road are ancient buildings with flying eaves and painted beams, showcasing the unique architectural style of the Bayu region. The street is bustling with people. The dazzling array of specialty shops is overwhelming, with traditional handicraft shops, exquisite paper-cuttings, and lifelike wood carvings, making people marvel at the superb skills of the craftsmen; there are also fragrant snack shops, with delicacies such as sour and spicy noodles, Chen Ma Hua, and Mao Xue Wang emitting tempting aromas that stimulate people's taste buds. I tasted a bowl of authentic sour and spicy noodles, and the smooth noodles, rich soup, and spicy flavor instantly ignited my appetite, leaving a lasting impression. Ciqikou not only has food and handicrafts but also has a profound cultural heritage. Ancient temples and old opera stages are scattered around, as if one can see the prosperous scenes of the past. Walking into a teahouse, sitting down to listen to Sichuan opera, and feeling the unique singing style and wonderful performances, the soul finds a moment of tranquility in the nurturing of traditional culture. Strolling in Ciqikou, I can also feel the enthusiasm and simplicity of the local residents. They are either busy running their shops or leisurely chatting at the door, with happy smiles on their faces. There is no hustle and bustle of the city here, only peace and harmony.
