Europe’s Largest Gothic Church - Kolner Dom

#createwithtrip to Cologne to see the Europe’s largest Gothic Church, with world’s tallest twin spired church and largest facade. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, it’s a very popular sight. make sure you go early to avoid the crowd. Construction started in 1248 but did not finish until 1880. One of the most important treasure in the cathedral is the Shrine of the Three Kings, from 12th Century. It is traditionally believed to hold the remains of the Three Wise Men, whose relics were acquired by Frederick Barbarossa at the conquest of Milan in 1164. Also check out the dot matrix stained glass window. Do allocate at least an hour as there are a lot of things to discover inside the church. #germany #cologne #colognecathedral #church
