Finding Timelessness in Nature: A Moment of Reflection ⏳🌲

I read once that relationships - of all kinds - are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely, with an open hand, the sands remain where it is. The minute you close your hand and squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. I’m sure it was meant as an insight into interpersonal relationships, but for me it also feels true for the passing of time. The more I try to squeeze out of every day the faster the minutes seem to fly by. And while time has always been a lurking source of anxiety for me. . . It has been a bit more pronounced than usual lately. I think that’s why I charash time spent in the backcountry, and up in the mountains so much. Nature has a special way of slowing time down. It strips away all the noise, all the distractions, and the obligations that keep me from being present in my day to day life. Nature can’t be rushed or micromanaged. It doesn’t abide by anyone elses schedule. There’s only the rising and setting of the sun and a whole lot of space to do absolutely nothing - which is everything. ⛰️💙 cr:jess.wandering Contact us for removal
